Car Lease

Hi guys, this has probably been asked a thousand times so please forgive me for my ignorance, but I’ve just not managed to come across any information that answers my questions.

I’m moving to Qatar next week (long term basis) I’m after a car but I DO NOT want to buy as I will need to take out a loan and the loan will have interest involved. I’m trying to stay away from any interest for my religious beliefs.

My question is has anybody had any experience with leasing long term? I keep coming across QNB Lease program but there’s not a lot of information on the cars and prices etc.

I guess there's no private messaging, I wanted to give you the phone number of the manager so you can contact him directly but I'm not sure if he'd like me posting it up on here for everyone to see.

Hi thanks for the reply! Please can you send over the names of good rental companies. I think il need to rent before I can get a loan (providing its sharia compliant) :)

You can get interest-free loans that are shari'a compliant. They tack on a profit rate. So don't worry when it comes to that.

In terms of not wanting to own a car, you can always rent a vehicle and that way the company will handle all service and maintenance costs. To give you a rough idea, a Honda City will run you about 2,000-2,500 QR, Civic 2,500-3,000, Accord 3,500-4,000QR all 2013 models if taken on a one-year contract.

I can pass along the details of the company I rent from now. Just let me know through a private message.

It might be a good idea to start off for the first couple months until you get your bearings straight as maintenance costs for vehicles can be quite high here.
