1. New Traffic Diversion on Grand Hamad Street :
The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces closure of one lane of Grand Hamad Street before commuters from Cornish at the stretch between Al Ahmed Street Intersection and Ali bin Abdulla Street Intersection (Al Fardan Signal), as shown in the attached map.
The closure shall be active during the period from 22/12/2012 until 04/02/2013.
This inevitable diversion is due to the ongoing drainage pipeline extension works at the street.
While apologizing the inconveniences caused, Ashghal appeals all commuters to abide by the traffic directions at the diversion.
2. Traffic Diversion at Msheireb Zone

The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces traffic diversion at Msheireb zone near Souq Waqef effective from Friday, 21/12/2012. The diversion is in order to start the reconstruction and upgrade works of Rayyan Street and Jassim bin Mohamed Street.
Traffic will be diverted partly by closing Rayyan Road heading eastbound from Al Diwan Street up to Rayyan Road – Souq Intersection, reaching up to Asmakh Street and traffic on this route shall be diverted to southward (Al Diwan Street).
Commuters who wish to take a turn eastward on Msheireb Street towards Souq Waqef and Grand Masjid should proceed northbound on Jassim bin Mohamed Street.
Traffic along Rayyan Road shall be limited to one-way westbound and those who wish to go through Rayyan Road shall access it through Jassim Mohamed Street, as shown in the illustration map.
Similarly, a stretch of Jassim Bin Mohammed Street northbound towards Corniche Street will be closed between Rayyan Road – Souq Intersection and southbound between Rayyan Road Intersection and Msheireb Street Roundabout.
Traffic movement on Jassim bin Mohamed Street shall be restricted to one-way traffic northbound from Msheireb Street Roundabout, with provision to head eastward towards Souq and westbound towards Rayyan road, as shown in the attached map.
While apologizing the inconveniences to public, Ashghal appeals all commuters to abide traffic guidelines along the diversion.
3. Partial Closure of 22 February Street Near Gharrafa Interchange

The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces temporary closure of one lane of 22 February Street near Gharrafa Interchange (Immigration) in front of Al Ali Souq, as shown in the attached illustration map.
The closure shall be active during the period from 21 December 2012 to 21 February 2013.
This diversion is implemented in order to complete the upgrade works of treated effluent network within Doha and Rayyan.
While apologizing any inconvenience to the public, Ashghal appeals all commuters to abide by traffic guidelines along the diversion.
4. Temporary Diversion at Mesaimeer Road

The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces a temporary closure of one lane of Mesaimeer road at Nuaija area, between D Ring road and E Ring road, as shown in the attached illustration map.
The diversion will last during the period from 21 December 2012 until 15 March 2013.
This diversion is implemented in order to complete the upgrade works of treated effluent network within Doha and Rayyan.
While apologizing any inconvenience to the public, Ashghal appeals all commuters to abide by traffic guidelines along the diversion.

Public Works Authority “Ashghal” announces a further traffic diversion at Dukhan Highway between the existing interchanges at Al Wajbah and Shahaniyiah. This phase to be implemented from Tuesday 19 February 2013, as shown on the illustrated map and covers the diversion of the Doha bound traffic for a distance of approximately 3km opposite the Umm Al Afaei Petrol Station, between the existing temporary diversions to Rayyan Roundabout
This extended diversion will last for 12 months to allow construction works to be undertaken as part of the PWA “Ashghal” plan to improve the Dukhan highway between Rayyan Stadium Roundabout and Shahaniyah Interchange.
While apologizing for the inconvenience caused, Ashghal appeals to all road users to abide by the speed limit of 80km along this diversion and to abide by the traffic guidelines at the diversion. Speed cameras will be in operation over this section of traffic diversion.
The project is part of Ashghal’s Expressway Programme delivering a national roads network capable of sustaining the future growth and development of Qatar.

Commuters moving westwards towards Al Diwan Street on Al Rayyan Road from Al Khoot Fort round about and Jassim Bin Mohamed Street will not be able to travel for the next one year starting from 8th Feb 2013 onwards because of a work being undertaken in the area, according to an Ashghal statement. However, it said the existing west-bound one-way on Al Rayyan road will be lifted so that commuters could proceed towards Souq Waqif and Corniche from Al Diwan Street.

Traffic Diversions at Bin Mahmood
The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces closure of Al Quds Street and Sinan Street at Bin Mahmood zone.
Al Quds Street shall be closed before commuters heading from Al Jazeera Street and Bin Mahmood Street as shown in the illustration map from Sunday, 30/12/2012 until the first week of March 2013.
This diversion comes as part of drainage pipeline extension works at the area.
While apologizing any inconveniences to public, Ashghal appeals all commuters to use alternate routes and to abide by traffic directions.
One lane of Grand Hamad Street from Alfardan Signal to Toyota Signal has been closed much before the above mentioned date as I am using that road regularly going back home from West Bay.
The closure of roads from Al Bida signal to Emiri Palace signal and to Arab Bank Round is creating big traffic jams in the evenings which spreads through corniche and Rayyan road.
