PART ONE: I have read a few posts on this and other expat sites about The Phoenix Private School. It should be made absolutely clear in no uncertain terms that the senior managers who were operating Cedars Tutoring Centre are not connected with The Phoenix.

I know the senior managers personally and have been told the the details about why Cedars had to close and their subsequent ordeal. Suffice to say it is a highly unpleasant account of persecution and, in my opinion, corruption. MORE TO FOLLOW IN PART TWO.

I found out that Cedars were never legally a school. They've been operating under a tutoring licence for nearly 10 years and now that they've been caught they've taken everyone's money and run off.

This sounds like the Gympanzee play centre in Villagio where money mattered more that legality and safety.

I agree, that the last day was sad for all the parents as we had been robbed in broad daylight. Many of the parents I know haven't been able to send their children to decent schools because their school allowance had been stolen by Cedars!

They want to open a new school called Phoenix using our stolen money! Anybody intending to apply to Phoenix, be warned, the people behind this are unscrupulous and shameless.

TO QATAR LIVING MODERATORS - Why do you continue to list Cedars on your list of schools even though they closed down months ago?

I was in cedars this morning with my wife and kids

The atmosphere was very sad, the staff was saddd

They didnt give my money back, my children will start school on january 6th

So i paid 37000 riyal for nothing , not only one day of school

Thevstaff said that the school,is in liquidation and we must wait that the proces will end may be one year or two!....

So now i have no money and no plaçe for my children!!!

very sad :(

they will refound you all the money, try to call on Sunday, someone will explain what you need to do. you will also recive an email with all the information soon.

my kids were there too...they adore the school, the staff..everything.

They were so happy there, they have learnt a lot, their english became much better in such a short time, they confidence growth from day to day...

This was the only school in Doha witch accepted all kids in need for a school place. No matter where they were from, did they speak english or not, did they have any learning disabilities or not.....so on,so on,so on...

There was the most warm and friendly atmosphere for all the children, all the parents and all the staff that you could ever imagine!

Kids from all over the world like that school, they learn quickly and easy, they enjoyed most encouraging atmosphere, they liked each other, they respected everyone, they encouraged each other, and were encouraged by everybody!

So positive atmosphere we haven't found anywhere. We were so happy when found that school!

The only thing they ever cared about were our kids!

And now we lost it !!!!

....where will all of those kids go? they are literally on the road...

There are not enough schools in Doha anyway!

Why!? Why did some one decide to ruin that school? Why did someone decide to throw all of those kids out, on the street? Why weren't they willing to help management to get through that procedure rather than destroy all those people-the staff, the kids, the parents....in one word-Cedars

????

As far as we are concerned, the school has been closed and liquidated. Many people affected, poor little children, parents, staff.

A very unhappy , sad weekend.
