Guy Savoy in Doha
Finally real fine dining in Doha!!
This week I visited Quisine by Guy Savoy on the Pearl... I was amazed!!!
The experience was like nothing else in Doha. From the design of the restaurant, the service we recieved to the unbelievable taste of the food... this restaurant is not to go un-noticed.
We were greated by a friendly hostess who was extremely sweet and proffessinal following this we were taken to our table simple and ellegantly laid. The staff were outstanding, the service was attentive but not over bearing they are extremely knowledgeable about food and every detail of their work executed to perfection.
The food was something quite spectacular each dish was served on specialist crockery and tasted exquisite. I don't want to spoil the suprise but some of the dishes have a very special presentation...This restaurant certainly has a wow factor!!
The best part of the evening was that I actually got to meet Chef Guy Savoy himself I was so suprised to find he was actually present at the kitchen. Although he explained he is not here all year around as he has other restaurants in Paris, Singapore and Las Vegas he will make regular visits to his restaurant here in Doha
Fantastic Restaurant unlike anything we have in Qatar.
Thank you to Mr Savoy and his amazing team

Simply divine. As cliche as it may sound, this is a feast for the senses! From the decor, the service and attention to detail, not to mention the food, this is hands down Doha's finest restaurant.
The only problem -- and everyone knows it: no wine. The Pearl is still dry and therefore you can't have a bottle of Montrachet to go with your crispy skinned seabass. You can't have a bottle of burgundy with your veal sweetbreads.
This is a tragic situation and even the Qataris that frequent this restaurant would agree.
The alcohol ban must be overturned or Doha will likely lose its top culinary destination. I cannot imagine Mr. Savoy wanting to continue having his name associated with this silliness and I would bet that the second the contract runs its course, he will take his name, along with his talented staff, to greener pastures.

I was once greeted by a friendly hostess :o)
i was never a big fan of fine dining. it's probably just because i'm a poor third world country girl so i can't relate, but gushing about overpriced food seems so nouveau riche to me.
ahh....the entire village of starving people a meal there could feed....let's all pray for them while elizabeth davies enjoys her dinner
And use spellcheck..it is QL, but still....
I have to say, to read such biased drivel does a lot to keep me away from the place....
It's pretty sad really. Only joins to publicise a restaurant and posts just the same thing twice. How stupid must this person think everyone is. Come on, if you are going to do it properly post a few other times on different subjects and then .write a review. Also don't make it so over the top, all I can think now is this place is fake and probably have food that taste worse than week old camel dung
@qdclover - LOL!
"Elizabeth Davies" registers on QL just to post a restaurant ad.... sorry, I mean "unbiased review".
Thank you Elizabeth for your unbiased review. It is always good to get a neutral standpoint on such subjective things as the dining experience. Your balance view warms my heart to know there is such a thing as an honest person.
Pearl & Guy Savoy? Will be very costly I think.
