How to find a Job in Qatar?

Well here are a list of recommended ways to find a good job in Qatar:

1. Find a good agency with a known reputation.

You should be aware that some of the more disreputable ones will illegally charge you money for the privilege of using your services but actually there are many well know free agencies.

2. Browse local ads in newspapers I will recommend Gulf News and the Gulf Times and the Peninsula.

3. Upload your CV to an online known recruitment site such as Bayt.com or Monstergulf.com or if you are looking for anon skilled jobs there are some websites also specialized in non skilled jobs such as Qatarlabour.net

4. Register on professional networking sites an know one will be linked in.

5. Go directly to the websites of companies in your industry. Companies such as QP maintain large vacancy sections where they directly advertise jobs. You can read about the benefits of QP jobs and find a direct link to their website on our webpage here: QP Jobs.

6. Send out speculative CV’s. I worked for one company that only ever recruited from random CV’s sent to their office.

7. Network. Qatar Living is a mine of useful local information. Don’t spam with your details, but do take ask friendly locals about where to look for jobs, job opportunities e.t.c. .

8. Coming to Qatar: The final method is the one we least recommend, but for the sake of completeness we are adding it here. Coming to Qatar is expensive and risky (you might not find a job) but it does work for some people. In particular, I met a couple who found a job with the a hotel after coming to Qatar and visiting all the hotels in turn. Be aware, though, that ‘local’ contracts’ are not always as good as international contracts.

I think to come to Qatar is little risky specialy coming to private sector its either doctor or executive class. Compare to other place in gulf Qatar is little uncertain place. Usually employee not getting salary on time and on leaving employers are not willing to give the gratuity and other end of service benefits. In my view before taking any risk of coming to Qatar better explore some alternative.

QL should consider something like 'sticky posts' functionality, where informative posts like these, which cover all the basics of oft repeated questions from users, can be assembled as 'go to guides'..on frequent topics like immigration, jobhunts, labour issues, traffic rules/violations and what have you..maybe it already exists and i need to explore the site more:-)
