Cabbie drops passenger .. keeps her bag

A Sri Lankan taxi driver apparently could not resist the temptation of the large bag held by a Saudi woman when she hired him at Dubai’s airport.
Just as she stepped out of the car near her rented apartment in Barsha, he sped away with the bag.
The bag turned out to be big loot as it contained a laptop and an Ipad device worth more than Dh4,300, which he sent to his family in his home country.
But the driver’s joy was short-lived as he had apparently did not realize that taxi cabs leaving the airport can be tracked down by the police. A few days after the woman reported the theft, the driver was nabbed.

My point was that I believe , he didn't drive off with the bag on purpose.
yeah possible... no wonder he sent it home to his village for safe keeping instead of reporting about it to the persons concerned in his taxi company
A harsh lesson learned. I find the story as written a little hard to believe. I rather think that the woman forgot the bag in the taxi and he kept it rather than returning it..
Well the guy was so quick to send it onwards to his home without even thinking about the passenger who would have been looking for it everywhere. Now she will tell everyone about her bad experience with this taxi guys in Dubai
Always look after ones bag otherwise it gives those that are less well off the joys of the findings.......... It should be a motto.....
should be deported or jailed for a long time
And a thieving fool at that.Maybe he assumed he could have escaped being caught like he would have back in his homeland. Now he can repent at leisure both in jail and then on the plane back home.
Not good on his part ..
