Applying for a job in Qatar from Pakistan
Hello QatarLiving readers! Me and my husband got married 6 months ago and are currently residing in Lahore, Pakistan but wish to move abroad. Right now the most appealing option is Qatar of course. I have been searching for jobs on line but they weren't too helpful or clear. We both are Pakistani nationality holders.
I have an experience of Early Year's Teaching for 7 years and he has Relationship Banking + Customer Service experience of 6 years. We do not have any family living in Qatar, or friends. I would be very grateful if anyone could guide us about any job or companies hiring expats from Pakistan. Preferably those companies which will sponsor a work visa too. Any additional basic guide would be very helpful too!
Thank you so much!! :)
now that we have resolved to some extent babybluz issue .... concentrate on CL plz..... and baburoa.... shhhhhhhhh ... dont let CL knows abt them ....

If applying through a job agency or job recruiters can anyone suggest which ones are most reliable and efficient on the net?

Thank you. I will!
I am sending you a PM babybluz :) check in a while please.
Can you also tell me what roughly is the pay scale of teachers here in Qatar?
That's good. Do apply to as many openings as you can. Teachers for younger classes are always in demand.
Being a kindergarten teacher i taught all subjects. Since my last school was PBL (Project Based Learning) all subjects were interlinked with the project.
Yes, I understand what you mean :) May I ask what subject you teach? If you want to teach English Language, ESL, do try TEFL.com or Dave's ESL Cafe.
Thank you!
I guess it is...luckily i have been teaching in the only IB and international school of lahore, and mashAllah thanks to Allah i've been earning well too despite the low teaching salaries here in Pakistan.
But i heard in UAE teaching is a very good profession.
Thank you so much Baburao, Khanan, Mohdata, Captain_lost, Victory278692 and Aiwa6, for your advices.
Khanan i have applied in the Pakistani schools you told me about.
Strom i will definitely try to make a linkedin account though i'll appreciate if you tell exactly how to add HR people in a network. Please message me your email address too.
Best.
babybluz, keep applying to all jobs that suit your category, on Bayt.com and other job sites catering to Qatar. Don't focus on Pakistani schools only. Widen your search and make a good, comprehensive CV, and start applying with a convincing cover letter ready.
Most schools bear expenses and sponsor visa. You and your husband should take the plunge, be well prepared; as in your resumes' should be precise in details. Your experience sounds good. Wish you the very best :)
Oops, sorry :D
Ahem, I mean, CL is the most loyal lover ever :D Lucky u Strom.

Bayt.com has a good success rate. I know of a lady who applied on it from Pakistan and was selected at a Pakistan school here. Wish you best of luck. If it's meant to happen, it will. And keep hoping for the best.
Sigh CL. So many true loves. You are the modern day Hercules.

well lets be optimistic here... yes its hard to get Pakistani visa, but we all are here isnt ? .... so firstly make a
1. linkedin profile and add people from qatar mostly in HR ( i have been hired thorugh linkedin)
2.we do need teachers here in pakistan education centre , all you need to do is find the link and apply and CALL (call is must)
3. bayt and monster never worked for me but u can try
4. fwd me your CV and your husband CV and i'll se what i can do ....
Best of Luck
To be very frank its really hard to get a visa for Pakistanis here in Qatar... So most of the companies try not to recruit Pakistanis and go for easier options.
But i'm not saying its impossible, you can still try your luck by using these recruitment websites mentioned above OR you can search for reputable companies in qatar related to your field and apply from their websites.
Good Luck :)
well online recruitment may or may not work..i suggest you try all your options and not just rely on online job postings; one option, although potentially expensive and risky, is for your husband to come here on a visit visa and test the market. He has banking experience which is especially relevant here. He could visit places and network with people and possibly land a role. It will be tough yes, but inshallah you'll find a way. Best of luck:-)
here in Doha but getting a Pakistani visa is very tough.
Here are the list of some Pakistani Schools where you can apply :
-Pakistan Education Centre : http://www.pecqatar.com/
-Bright Future Pakistani School :http://www.brightfuture.com.qa/
-Pak Shama : http://www.pakshama.edu.qa/
-TNG :http://www.tngqatar.com/
Try to submit your CV online and contact them.
As for you Husband, let him do the same by applying online in Banks of Qatar.
Qatar National Bank, Qatar Islamic Bank, Doha Bank, Commercial Bank...Google them.
Good Luck!
