BBC World Service radio in English

Hi. I am new to Doha.
Just wondering if anybody manage to listen to it on shortwave here in Doha? (I understand that the arabic version is on FM.)
I am desperately in need of it in the car during the week from 7:45 to 8:15 while I do my school/work drop off.
Should I buy a shortwave radio? Is it worth it? The quality of the sound is ok?
I don't have 3G on my mobile, so no internet, but if you can suggest other means to get it, please do.
Thank you in advance.

90.3 FM but only on a pleasant day. A bit of wind and you loose the signal. The other negative bit is that the English service stops at 17.00 Doha time & then the Arabic kicks in. Good programmes though love listening to world have your say and all the other Beeb programmes during the school run & rat race to work. Enjoy!!

Most people here can't comprehend anything past their ipods and ipads.

Here's how you can get BBC Worldservice without SW:

Get a Worldspace digital satellite receiver for your car and tune it to the free north east beam of Afristar satellite radio service.

At home:

Eutelsat Hot Bird 8 at 13° East (Transponder: 50, Frequency: 11727 MHz, Polarisation: Vertical, Symbol Rate: 27500, FEC: 3/4).

If you have an ipad or iphone, you can get the app and using an fm transmitter listen to BBC world with super excellent sound quality.

You cannot expect a good quality sound here in Doha without internet.
