Moving to Doha.. Some advice required

Sorry, I can only imagine that this question has been asked a million times already but I'm looking to move from London to Doha for work reasons.

I have no previous experience of Doha so I don't know what to expect. On a monthly basis, in Qatari Riyal.. What would be average monthly expenditure in Doha to cover the following for a single male in their mid twenties:

- Accomodation
- Utilities
- Travel (car loan purchase if possible)
- Food
- Leisure/Entertainment
- Anything else I may have forgotten which you feel is important

I really appreciate any heads up anyone could provide.

Many thanks

I think 15000 is an average for a single guy especially coming from Europe.. but if u can get a better offer, it would be fine so that u will be able to save some money..

with a housing allowance of 5000, you will live in a one bedroom apartment with no pool or Gym.

If u want a nice place to live, it will start with 6500 and above.

unless u want to live at "the pearl", there u will have to pay more than 9000 per month.

Good Luck

Thanks for that.

What's the difference between 5000QR accomodation and 9000QR accomodation?

Do you guys think that 15,000QR is adequate to live on for a month in Doha?

- Accomodation (5000QR - 9000QR)

- Utilities A: 500QR-1500QR

- Travel (car loan purchase if possible) A: a rental cost you around 2000QR a month including fuel

- Food A:300QR - 750QR

- Leisure/Entertainment A: bars & restos are expensive, a beach pass in a hotel cost you 250+ QR

- Anything else I may have forgotten which you feel is important A: make sure your apartment has gym and pool...if you are going to drive here: expect the unexpected, its the wild west!
