So Someone in FB list tagged me to this post "Attention Parents: Is Your Child at Risk for Autism, Asthma, Allergies, Diabetes or even Cancer?

"Stop the Vaccine Insanity!"
so are vaccines good or bad?

and often have "medical evidences" to back their claims. Whilst obviously some kids, and even grown ups, might be allergic to certain drugs and vaccines, and these may then turn deadly or damaging, others will only reap the benefit from them.

Where I come from in Sri Lanka we actually hardly ever(I'll dare say never, Allahu alam) here of anyone being diseased or maimed by vaccines(mind you practically every child is vaccinated there and should you opt not to you might find yourself the object of much scorn, and your own folks might even disown you, and I kid ya not!) and it's only after I got access to internet did I even here of such cases of childhood vaccines being harmful etc.

Ultimately I believe in obeying my doctors and physicians in matters of this nature, for after all I chose them with great care and through much research anyways.

We like to focus on rare, scary diseases that might kill us.

But we happily ignore that when we take antibiotics for viral infections like colds, it is only making bacterial strains more likely to become resistant.

However, ultimately the leading causes of death are becoming the most easily preventable. Smoking and obesity are far likely to kill people than AIDS.

many diseases have also come back with strong variants which are not suscpetible to the modern medicine

This is misinformation that you are being fed. I wrote a blog on a related topic (http://qatarka.wordpress.com/2012/09/03/healthy-skepticism-and-caring-for-your-health/) and suggest that you research the evidence-base before trusting in populist nonsense.

The bottom line is that many diseases have been all-but wiped out as a result of vaccinations. Where we have seen a decrease in vaccinations we have seen an increase in the disease. With all medicine there is a risk but the risk from the disease that vaccinations prevent is probably worse.
