What a great day at the Olympics yesterday.

Track and field took centre stage. Jessica Ennis won teh Heptathalon, Mohammed Farah the 10,000 metres and the cycling was awesome.

Enjoyed every minute :O)

The only physical advantage he has are the Cheetah's, but he's had to change his style of running to compete in the Olympics, so I don't know if that will mentally play on his mind during the finals.

And the one with the shoe horns attached to his legs should not be allowed........shoe horns notoriously assist with speed....especially if ones shoes are difficult to get off.....

I think China use a lot of other nationalities to represent their country too!!

Do you not feel that pistorious may have an unfair advantage, both physically and mentaly ?

Oscar Pistorius has already won 4 golds at the paralympics, but hats off to him for the perseverance to compete in the Olympic Games.

Do you think he has an advantage though with those carbon fibre Cheetahs?

I enjoyed watching most of it yesterday. But my heart went out to Adlington when she came up to receive her Bronze medal for the 800m and could not stop crying.... She's such a pretty package :-)

Olympics is an International Sports Event;

why they dont have CHESS and Snookers being our favorite games, we could generate GOLD medals?

I was amused when Qtel offer free sms to congratulate the bronze medalist.

It doesn't relates to 90% of the Qatar population.

Victory, when a story hits the number one spot on the BBC, it also becomes an "international event." The population in Qatar is also "international". Most expats are eager to get news about their home country and like to discuss it here with Qlers. Either the mods ban every thread that doesn't have the word "Qatar" in it, or they allow any other thread, too.

Dear Mods, please delete this post. It is irrelevant for QL. Let's see, how biased you are.

Football, Tennis, basketball should not be allowed anyway, but i agree, they were useless.

Stole from other countries that's a bit Harsh.

They came to UK with their own will and settled down and now represent the Team GB, unlike some countries who give them the passports so they can play in the national teams.

Football, we are doomed by Penalty shoot outs. They have themselves to blame for not converting the second Penalty during the normal time.

What about England football team lost at Penalty shoot out?

I like Pistorius, hope he enjoys a good day..

LincolnPirate "The Somalian" came to Britain as an 8 yrs old, its not a case of giving someone the nationality just for an Olympic medal.

I think the 10 000 meters were won by a Somalian.

10,000 metres was a bit of a shock, expected the Ethiopians and Kenyans to take all the medals but Farah and Rupp really surprised me.
