Shipping pets from Dubai to Doha.

Hi there,

It's only a month till we join my husband over in Doha and I am looking into how to get my two kitties over there.

I have spoken to Qatar Pet Relocation and she has told me that I can either send the cats as accompanied baggage or as cargo - either way they will go into the hold.

I've read through previous old posts on this forum but I am hoping that someone has relocated their pets recently and can give me some guidance.

If it is all pretty straight forward then I would like to do all the paperwork myself. I know that I need to go to the municipality vet and get them checked over and that QPR will do all the paperwork in Doha but is there anything else that I would need to do?

Also, can you let me know who you flew with and whether your pets went as baggage or cargo and if there was much difference in cost.

Thank you in advance!

Thanks Xena. I went on this forum as I thought that maybe there would be someone living in Doha that had just done this from Dubai.

Will keep trying!

I don't mean to be rude, but that is something you would need to ask on a Dubai Forum.

It would probably be easier to contact a relocator there, or maybe QPR could recommend someone.

Hope this helps:-)

I am happy to use a pet relocator for bringing the cats into Doha but I am more interested in any information about using a pet relocator in Dubai (for exporting) or the alternative of doing it myself.

I don't have a problem with the cats going in the hold, that is expected. It is more a case of if it is easy to do all the paperwork myself and liaise with the airlines then I will be able to save on the expense of using a pet relocator in Dubai.

Just thought that if anyone has done all the legwork themselves already they would be able to give me some advice.

Thanks

is one of the best and the cheapest.

The info you would have been given is the best info you will get. She is an IPATA member and adheres to all their codes and conducts and will give you the best advise for the health and safety of your animal.

You will not get any better info anywhere else.

You seem to have a problem with the fact that your kitties will have to go into the hold. You will not be able to carry any animals onboard in the Middle East. Even service dogs require many "signatures" to get permission to fly with their "patients"
