I think Paris was taken out of the equation because they wanted the athletes to run backwards :O(

London is the only 3-time modern day Olympic host. Rec to Rec jobs During the order relevance Paris was the favored city.London with the way of Sebastian Coe triumphed.

Its hard to win the first time out but the experience will be invaluable. Maybe in the future they can coach more girls in sports and maybe, just maybe a gold in the future...

Unfortunately the Qatari flag bearer/shooter came up short and missed the initial cut for qualification into the next round by 3 points - our girl in the table tennis came up against a Canadian girl with a Chinese name who absolutely wiped the floor with her - which was a shame - however she can take solace from the fact that she WAS there and we werent so cudos to her.

No idea on the Saudi girls but how can they fail with such overwhelming support from the clerics back home.

olympic abayas..nice.

i'm not sure if it's because i'm so used to it here, but i think them wearing abayas last night looked really elegant. the girls from all the other arab countries wore a variant of their countries' national costume. and they're dressed better than the saudi girls imo.

the flagbearer girl was beaming and looked so proud. i'm happy for her

No chairboy, Qatar is dragging itself into the 21 century. These a users in saudi should be stripped of any formal power they have within the state and ostracised by society. No place in the modern world for them.
