Fire safety
One of the airconditioners in our house had a short circuit and caught on fire after iftar today . we quickly turned off the electricity and got the children out. we called 999 and told them we had a fire so they transferred us to civil defense department and told them we had a fire and the answer we got was what fire no speak arabic. it took us more than 15 mins of yelling for them to understand what we wanted and get a rough idea of our location which is in a very central part of city by which time we had put out the fire ourselves , so they decided there was no need for them to come at all. such an episode after the tragedy the happened at villagio is completely unacceptable.
strange case 999 not knowing the meaning of FIRE in english after such a big accident at villagio but ALHAMDULILLAH you and yr family safe
Her profile says she is PAKISTANI. So ofcourse language problem. Problem with civil defence who do not have qualified english speaking staff.
Mmmm Yazleb looking at the post I would guess that the author is actually Arabic... C
BTW just to clarify......I am from the birth place of " health & safety " UK .....but if an arabic/indian family called 999 back at home & spoke in arabic/indian to the operator they wouldnt understand either! You live in an arabic country try to learn the basics for these situations also for hospital/doctors
I suggest u learn the arabic word for FIRE!
All the glittering are not gold !!!!!!!!!!
All the ( small ) fire are not ( BIG ) fires !!!!!!!!
Only a casuality or injury case is considered as serious.
The rest are nothing. God bless them........
