Another day, another marquee signing to the Qatar Stars League. It just keeps getting bigger.

It's the turn of Brazilian international Nilmar to join the bandwagon. Welcome to Qatar, Nilmar. Thrill us no end.

How do you go about getting tickets for a game in the league? Are most just pay on the day or do you have to get tickets beforehand?

Now only if they can get Maradona as the Qatar coach... just to show how to do the "hand of god" goal

With Maradona comes the press and free publicity... and the guy knows how to keep the press updated with fresh news every month... lol

Yeah this is a load of rubbish - guy hasnt played for the national team since 2010, didnt command a full season's appearances at Villareal last season or indeed last season - writing is clearly on the wall for him - undoubtedly could have moved to a similar sized club in Europe as Villareal but why would you want to do that when you could move to Qatar to command an outrageous remuneration package, a start in every game, be a big fish in a very small pond and play at a standard eqivalent to a warm up pre season friendly each week. As brit says at his age its a suprising move but who knows what his personal agenda is - he has done what 000's before have done but just a bit earlier.

Add value?? Sure, why not.

Surprising move, since he's only 27. Hope it works out for him.

First of - I like that you address me as "Sir" :-P

Second of - I made a comment with a smile, which certainly shows positivity. Now if you misconstrued that comment, it's not my fault.

And finally, I did come to Qatar out of my own free will, but NOT for the money. As hard as it may be for you to believe, I was making much more in BOM doing the stuff I loved most and yeah I was getting a lot MORE laid back home too, than I was when I came here ;-). I came here because I saw it as a challenge and wanted to experience living life alone overseas. I was young and ambitious and took a gamble, if I didn't like it here, I was going back in 6 months, coz that's how much time I gave myself.

But over a decade now I'm still here... I guess the gamble paid off ;-)

And if you think I'm making this up, I'm more than happy to buy you a drink and convince you :-D

Failure to express oneself well is what leads to assumptions in the first place. So I would say, THAT, is the mother of all effups.

I shall not be commenting further. I made my point. Don't want to fan any more flames. Good day to you.

I'm sorry. But I had no way to magically understand what you meant when you said "Money talks :-)" other than what it obviously conveyed.

And oh, having a smiley at the end of the two words doesn't make it any less biased. I stand by what I said. I only reacted to the comment that was there in black and white. If you meant something else, then you've to write it down.

Until then sir, I WILL get my knickers in a twist.

Stop getting your knickers in a twist, my comment was in no way negative.

So if money didn't talk, would you guys be here?

Am getting pissed off with all this negative talk. Just think that he's here to play. Why do you need to think about what made him come here?

Did you come here for a different reason? To enhance the life values of the Qatari populace? Or to line your pockets a bit more? Sheesh. Some people will never learn to be positive!

When you point a finger at someone, the other four fingers are pointed right back at you.

Once again, Sheesh!
