British Schools
By expatbrat3 •
Hi All.... I am new to the Forum and am relocating in a few months. I know there is alot of info out there on all the British Schools in Qatar, however I am looking for a more personal opinion on the schools. I have worked british schools in the middle east before and know how much each can differ. Any advice and info would be much appreciated. My kids are 7 and 12 and both great academics, however, love their after school clubs...
Our organization, Educate Learning Center specializes in English, Maths and IT training.
We are a private institution that provides supplementary services to existing curricula.
Here is our temporary website for more information:

Hope this information is some-what useful :)
I was lucky enough to get mine into Doha British School which they love.
I was told last year when I was trying to get them into scchool that at the start of the school year, quite a few kids just dont turn up as their parents have scatter-gunned their applications or have even just gone home. It might be worthwhile just making some enquiries in late August anyway - nothing ventured, nothing gained eh?
Every parent on here will tell you that their school is the best and that the one that someone else is promoting is not worht promoting! It comes down to personal choice - I have heard horror stories from parents about schools that others rave about - you need to visit them and make up your own mind.
From my own particular experience, Doha British School does not have the best after-school activities but we have sourced our own Dancing/Soccer/Horse Riding/Piano Lessons etc and have no complaints at all - if you have lived in th ME before, Qatar is all about what you make of it.
Hope some of this helps.
Cheers
oh dear im afraid i have some bad news for u then.......if u havent already enrolled ur kids into a school then the liklihood of getting them into a school for 2013 is ZILCH. The waiting lists for the British schools here is stoooooopid. " apparently " Park house school has a 2 year waiting list. I tried 5 schools & all full ( i tried 2 months ago when i 1st got here )so they will have home tutoring 3 hours a day 5 days a week in September. The main prob will be getting ur 12 year old into a school as places here are very limited :-( the 7 year old will be easier however. If you already have places booked for them, then apparently the schools are average here ( based on reading stuff in the forums & asking people i know )If u have lived in Dubai before ( I did ) then there is no comparison the schools in Dubai are older, more structured, more organized & implement similar health & safety standards that we have in the UK. btw i have 5 children age ranges from 24-9 & so when it comes to schools ive had plenty of practice!!! good luck!
