Quitting a promising carrer to accompany spouse is not a new phenomenon.
I have seen soo many well qualified women here on QL, just wonder was their life/carrer same back home??

How many of you here had to go through this, do you ever regret your decision??

Share your thoughts and experiences.

I did it and i am really dreading my decision as Qatarians are the only persons qualified to hold the position i held in my country. So this equals a lower positioned job for me:-( Aah well, the sacrifices you make in life. I am only praying and hoping it all works out. :-(

Instead of wasting my time regretting the career I left, just kept myself busy looking for a job here. In no time, I’m back on track. Afterall, it’s more difficult to muddle through a long distance relationship. There are always opportunities out there. Just think positive.

oh ok.. I thought the other way around...

Few years back it was very easy to get a good job if you have experience and under husband's sponsorship.. nowadays there are more people looking for jobs.. but you will definitely get a job.. if you are lucky you will get it soon..if not you will have to wait some time..:)

I think she means she quit her career back home to accompany her spouse to Qatar. Not the other way round. So other ladies need to tell her what their own experience has been like.

your question is not clear.. are your leaving you job in India and joining your hubby here or are you leaving you job here and going back home with your hubby?

Bro, I dont plan to go back. But the ache of lossing self identity is what I'm worried about.

I somehow feel, though I might be wrong, India is having a healthy competition as compared to gulf, where getting a suitable job is not related to your qualification and experience.

If you are qualified and experienced you will get a good job back home as well, here you might get good money but there you will have career growth. Think positive.. you will be happy!!

Being and taking over care of family or loved one's is better.

If you are married take care of your family then being separated from families and working as widows.

Chota missed the point that you are going back to India.

You will miss the luxury of Gulf while hardships and competition are more back home.
