They did not have to die
By wwhitestar •
With the most basic of training and the right equipment they would be with us today. look at the photos. Not one air tank or mask or fire suit . With all the money they have here and that the fire trucks were less then 2 k away they should have not Die . Why is no one talking about this or even looking at it.
With the immense coverage I have seen, and until I see something to the contrary, I can only deduce that the two Civil Defense workers that selflessly perished were the "on-premisis" guys. There is a fire office in Villagio located in the food court next to the bathrooms close to Hardees. I have read accounts that they were in Gympanzee. This could have something to do with why the arriving Civil Defense folks didnt know about the place.
With that being said, this tradgedy has affected me immensly. As a somewhat new father (My Son turns two on the 17th, and my second Son is due in August)I am now way more vigilant, and very aggresive when it comes to my kids safety.
You are right, I didn't see any SCBA's(SCBA=Self Contained Breathing apparatus) on the Fire Men going in first. It will be a lot of lessons learned from this.
Just wondering how much damage was caused by the smoke and the fire and how much damage was caused by the first responders who were not familiar about the villagio mall or had no idea about the children within the complex and went on blasting water and foam at high velocity to get the fire under control with tragic results
just hope the outcome of the investigation will prove fruitful in keeping tragedies as these from every happening again..
so many shortcomings at all levels...
gb the families of all affected..
The fire team we have know all the Building and what they do. and not one had an air tank at that mall. many inside had time to send txt before they die. I just saying that there should spend some money on training and equipment .
According to the paper, the Civil defense personnel were not aware of the kids until 30 minutes after they arrived, they also lost 2 of their guys.
Building owners and people who run malls / shopping centres need to learn from this and take preventive measures.
My man tears drops when I read any this! RIP
