QTEL fibre engineers Charging for services
Be aware when the engineers for qtel fibre optic upgrade come to install the new routers. This one seemed an asian, who mentioned that he will have to connect the router and leave it on the ground because there were no correct connecting places in our villa.
However, he also suggested that he can help us by getting the connections right and it needs more cables to be laid and telephone points to be configured. And for all these "SERVICES" he would be charging QR 250 ,
I beleive , all the extra cables and points would be taken at qtels costs and the money would be going in the pockets. And customers would be left with their routers left on the ground with having to pay extra if they need a standard service.
SEEMS ITS A FABRICATED SERVICE.....
I really wish that they would speed up this whole process. It seems to be taking forever and my area - Al Muntazah, which seems to be in the center of the city doesn't even show up on the upcoming 6 months map....
Dear Givemetida,
We apologize for this inconvenience. Could you please message us your contact details so we can call you and get this investigated?
Thanks!
How about a double sided tape on the router? should hold the router on the wall.
You sure were misunderstood, technician would have needed to do extra job to connect Fiber equipment like Electricity socket which has to be done by you.
it is 101% sure that Qtel is not charging for its copper to fibre optic upgrading service.the guy who installed it for me was very friendly also he never charged a single penny.if u have problems with the ports and they say u have to pay , first enquire at the QTEL then if its true ask ur villa owner to pay.its his fault while constructing the house hope its solved.
According to the QTEL FAQs on the fiberoptic installation, the services and install charges WILL NOT change from the current DSL services and install for basic subscriptions. Advanced/higher speed broadband will have different 'packages' from the DSL but tiered in a similar pricing manner. Of course, I wouldn't put it past QT to try sneaking extra money out of customers so that they don't have to install new lines in existing buildings...but then again that IS about QT's CS...
First thing is that they are no engineers but just technicians. Report him to the Qtel immediately.
Do we need to call Qtel to install fibre opitc upgradation ??
Thanks.
Another guy wanting a bribe. I suggest you report him
i suggest you report this issue as soon as possible, also, please inform them the name of the installer for your services. i am sure he is trying to dupe you and others, as when i installed my qtel services, i didn't have to pay any extra at all...infact, the guy who installed my devices was extra helpful and seemed quite cooperative and customer service oriented!
