Hi all,
Just a quick question going to end up overstaying by 1 day on my temporary visa. I know I have to go to immigration and pay 10QR fine and some paper work but will this affect me in any way coming back to Qatar for new employment 2 weeks later. Thank you

Yep as others are saying is correct, 200QR per day, happened to me in my first month before our HR got their shit sorted, flew to Bahrain, paid the penalty (reimbursed by HR for their cock up) and all was good on return. Naveed doesn't know what hes talking about. Pay the penalty and you are fine. Good luck mate.

Hello,

How do you pay this fine for overstay? Can the passenger pay this at passport control to the immigration officer using credit card?

No issues, maybe they might not even fine you..and like max said, some of my friends have overstayed for upto 3 months, and our company just paid the fine...

There are some companies(who do not have enough visas), who bring in workers from outisde on a business visa, let them work for an year or so, and then simply pay the fine when it is time for them to exit..for these companies, a fine of maybe 20,000 QR is nothing when compared to the revenue these employees bring in...

The fine for overstay is 200 per day and overstaying does not affect your chances to return. I have a colleague who just returned yesterday (30-May-12). Her visa had expired on 02-Apr-12 and due to project compulsions, she could leave only by 16-May-12!!! Overstayed by 44 days and paid a fine of 8800; thats it. Emigration officials did not even ask her as to why she stayed for so long. When she applied for visa to come back in 10 days, she got it immediately in the first attempt itself, without any queries.

So your case of 1 day's overstay should not be a case to worry! Enjoy your stay!!!

it is 200 QAR per day and dont worry it won't affect your chances of coming back (sorry Naveed but what you are saying about this matter is partially wrong )

Pay the fine ,leave the country and can come back whenever you want.

Not 10qr , you have to pay 200 Qr and your chances of coming back to qatar very rare
