The Country Club has initiated Legal actions against Mr Kumaresan Nandha Kumar, who posted defamatory comments against the company claiming damages of 10 Million Dhirams. The company will also be filling a criminal complaint in the courts of Hyderabad India, Dubai, and Qatar.

Ya Three they are in Qatar and doing Business. This kind of marketing called time Share. 90 Minutes of presentation we are pressurized to take membership. All are well trained employees. Firstly they are making good relationship with us at the end we will not say NO and forced to take membership.

After three years are there still idiots here who fall for that? In this case nobody can help. Stupidity wins.

Some Facts About Country Club Doha

1) They stated doing business in Qatar from febuary 2012.

2) At the time of sales they are saying this offer is for today only. That is a big lie. Everyday they are doing the same

3) Membership cost for indians QR 18000 and every year QR 800 as Annual Maintenance Charge

4) Membership cost for Non indians QR 12000 and every year QR 800 as Annual Maintenance Charge

5) They are saying for indian membership for 30 years and lifetime club around the world. but in doha they having a temporary tie up with a hotel

6) Till date they having almost 3000 Family members in qatar. How all people use the club ?

7) At the time of sales they are saying they have all own 5 & 4 star properties. How Many Properties they have?

8) At the time of sales they are saying country club is going to open more properties in qatar.

9) At the time of sales they are saying every year they are conducting 3 to 4 big events in qatar. But just 1 event per year

10) Very difficult to get bookings. because every member choose vacation on school holidays.

11) Lot of complaints against them in legal department.

12) Please read the rules and regulation in membership form before signing. But they wont allow you.

13) Refund is possible within in 7 working days that is clearly mention in membership form.

THEY WAY OF THEIR MARKETING is called CHEATING, no doubt.

I visit County Club office yesterday as per they call to collect a FREE gift :-) i spoil my 2 hours for nothing.

How can we spend 18,000 QR (in initial time, and i think there is other hidden charge in every years also.. 800 or...) upon just PICTURES!!!

how can we trust they will be alive for 33 years in this condition :-)

In presentation, they are just showing some hotels, clubs, tourist place's pictures and comparing rates from other hotels...etc… and repeating the same for 2 hours :-)

how can we trust those palaces are good, hygienic and worthy....only by PICTURES? and their other conditions is, We have to join in their club on that moment, when I ask for few days to decide!!! use your brain :-)

I have many other experiences while booking hotels from online by seeing photos :-) in photos was like paradise, but in real :-)

so better don't give your contact numbers even, to those kind of persons.

Every associate of country club has a visiting card printed and is a mandatory to hand over that visiting card to every new member. Now you people may talk all that you want... but i will give you a few interesting facts about country club...\

1. All the posts above or any where on Qatar Living are by non members and members who got influenced by such ridiculous posts.

2. Not a single post by a member who has utilized holidays or even asked for it and did not get it.

3. Someone i read says that Club Mahindra is genuine. Worked for them too. They follow the same pattern for marketing.

4. Organized 2 events till now in QNCC for CC members.... ONAM and New year bash.... More than 2000 people attended and so did the staff of country club.... members and staff got along so well....

5. This is GCC,...u cannot just go by selling nonsense that you want. You will be kicked out of the country the next day.

6. Many high profile and dignified people are members of country club...

7. More than 300,000 members till date.

8. On an average.... just the Hyderabad club.... serves 400-500 people every day.

9. Yes.... agreed... this is aggressive marketing.... but what we sell is far more better than what you pay for it...

10. All the above mentioned posts.... if anyone have used facilities like sauna bath or steam bath and gym and a pool.... u know how much it costs.... especially in Doha.... Now we give you an opportunity to use all those on a daily basis,.,., not the very best but far better than the money u pay...

• Worst thing is that in case due to some reason we don’t want to continue as a Country club member , MONEY IS NON REFUNDABLE !!!! What a wonderful policy!!!! This thing they never reveal to customer during membership enrolling time!!!

• In case we negotiated for QR 15,000 (INR 225,000 ) later will receive bill for QR 20,000 (INR 300,000 )

• Lots of complaint registered in consumer court in India and many other places, no action on them, continue to cheat innocent people leading dirty lavish life!! What a shameless personality!! Really world most powerful fraud and cheating company is Country Club India Group!!

Their marketing strategy is mis selling. such as the offer is valid for just one hour, the offer price will not be available later, one could pay by credit card if cash not available are just traps.

I suggest it is NOT advisable for the people with No job security and medium Salaried (all jobs in the Gulf are unsecured) :(

We were just coming into the Qatar Shopping Complex in Lejbailat. I was walking ahead to get a cart and when I turned around, I saw this guy talking to my husband. When I reached them, my husband was already filling up a form of some sort.

I asked what is it about, the guy said they have a promo or something that we would be happy about.

I asked what company, guy said VACATION INTERNATIONAL or something to that effect. I told the guy we're not interested.

I explained to my husband about these hooligans.

Even I know this by now...and I am not even Indian...;)

I already register my complain with consumer protection dept. Qatar & Qatar tourism authority.

They did the same to me in Quality Hypermarket (formerly Dasman).

Luckily, I gave them a fake no. LOL.

Few weeks we visited Safari mall and one guy approached us and introduced to a Kiosk which is next to escalators. Just asked few easy quations and congratulated for winning free trip to Egypt or London and then asked us to visit their office.

When we visited there we found many innocent poeple waiting there. They explained us today is the last day for getting big gifts so that pay us QR. 10k and avail QR. 20k worth of travel. Finally they came down asking us to pay QR. 1k today only if it is tomorrow you have to pay QR. 10k.

Once you pay even single QR to them Khalas. I have complained to Safari Mall management but they asked me to give written complaint. I told them it is for your benefit that mall image will not get spoiled. Finally came to know that they are making payment of QR. 3,000 pm to mall and they do not bother whatever they do.

ok guys listen here: I came almost 2 hours ago from one of their seminars, where they try to sell their vacation packages. for details you can refer to the post of ANA792 above, exactly the same details on prices. I and my wife were approached at safari as well.

The good thing is that 2 years ago we were approached by the same company and we went and got the gift but didn't pay 1 qr, and actually I gave hard time to the saleman coz i kept him 2 hours and at the end he was exhausted. Let's say that that time I was not sure it was a fraud, but didn't really feel confortable. I just didn't go further.

However, we didn't use the gift and this time we went to take the gift they promised at safari mall, and check if there was anything interesting to listen.

Let me tell you that this time was hard, also because this other guy made several proposals, progressively cheaper, till he convinced my wife!!! After 2 hours again I said to my wife -completely brainwashed- that if she wanted the offer then we could take it, but I was istinctively not convinced at all. The guy tried hard to convince me, and actually numbers were supporting him, but I openly said that I never sign contracts on the spot, without getting info and read carefully, and I would like to take my time. I told him that to buy a TV I'm going around since 2 weeks to find what I want, and there is nooooway to pay that amount, there, under rush.

He said that the offer was valid only for today, and supposing that I like the offer, tomorrow the price would be more than double, as usual.

The funny part was when I told him that I was quite confident that I could evaluate the proposal and find a way to go back to them to get the 'special' price offer, as I know they organize such events quite often.

He said that it's not possible coz once my name is in the system I cannot be invited anymore :) You guys should have seen his face when I said that he says BBBBullshit as It's the second time I'm gonna get a gift from them XD. At the end he was exhausted and my wife disappointed coz we didn't close a deal which was very good for her. Those guys are really professionals, he used my wife to convince me and I openly said to not play like that; then he asked me to bring her to honeymoon, as we didn't go after our recent wedding; then he showed personal documents of people who signed contracts (a certain Varghese). He also showed me other people who were signing there in the same room!!! That's what they do to put pressure and let you feel in the position to demonstrate that YOU CAN.

When I came back home I searched in the net about this Vacation Int'l travel & tour and found sooooo many posts about frauds cheats and such stuff that I was feeling happy to have been able to resist!

...of course I showed to my wife what I found out, and she is not disappointed anymore...

The only thing I want to verify is if really as I think the gift (one week in sharm el sheikh)is everything but a gift,as I read somewhere around that they ask to cover costs which are enough to pay the full vacation.

So briefly:

1) DON'T trust in offers which are valid only for a TOO SHORT period,

2) make mistakes with your head and not because someone is telling you what to do,

3) RUSH and MONEY are not a good combination

4) internet is a resource, USE IT!!! -before not after, I should remind this as well-

5) Internet is full of last minute packages, don't committ yourself for long term packages.

I saw Mr. Issy Almada's entry on complaint board regarding the Vacation International scam. I was also one of the victims of this scam being perpetuated by Vacation international. They told us that they had operated in UAE for 13 years and are in Doha from last 2 years. They plan to move on to Oman next.

I entered into a contract with them yesterday night( 25th August 2012) after being lured in the Safari mall in Qatar. They asked me a few questions and told me I had won a free trip to Egypt. They then invited me and my family to a "carnival" next day, where they would give out the free gifts. The gifts were a week each in two resorts in Egypt and three days in Dubai. They told us the accommodation was free and we have to pay 130QR for two meals in the hotel which again was said to be at 40% discount . This was if we accepted their package which was....that we could have 5 weeks vacation in 10 countries at a 50% discount on accomodation which would be $130 per night( full price being $270).... that is valid only if we sign the contract right then and there. So I have to pay a total of QR 18100 over 36 months paying QR 340 each month. While the signs of a scam was all around, I took the offer and paid Qr. 5940/-as 'non refundable' down payment because their offer appeared reasonable and we were planning to take a vacation anyway. At home I checked and found that the list of hotels given had hotels whose prices were only $ 80 to $150 and not $270 as they indicated. So basically we will be paying the full fare or more instead of availing a 50%.Moreover on checking I find that many of the hotels in their list do not exist any more. So I am wondering if I can do anything about it to cancel this whole contract. I saw when I got home that a lot of others were duped as well. Is any action being taken against them.

I called up Safari mall and told them about it but all they replied that I can complain to the company. He washed his hands off stating that all they have done is rented the space to this 'registered' company and also added that these people are operating from many other malls in Qatar also.

What I am reading here so far in the thread are the people attended the presentation, paid the initial deposit & backed out later realizing it as a scam by reading other people's post. I really want to know whether this Vacation International is a genuine vacation / time share company or is really a scam. I think they the company is making more $$ with your deposits.

Nothing is free in this world. Every body knows this but still they fall prey to such kinda things. Its better to investigate before doing any thing. Those who are already trapped nothing can be done but from next think hundred times and react..

Those who are interested to spend some time in holiday resorts should take the suggestion of Victory. Marriott and Mahindra are offering holiday packages,they are expensive but genuine.

i asked but she was innocent she was newely hired and dont know the reality.she left the company when she know about reality and they are hiring new peoples this is their tacts doing work through innocent peoples.and cheating innocent.

I had the same experience at Landmark mall. The offer was exclusively for family and first 60 families will only get it. Asked them about details, nothing you should do but attend an hour lecture that too on next day, so limited and exclusive. I said we have seen this and much more in Dubai, these kind of scams, they were saying like we are not time share, we can give u discount in Europe and US.

Now seen them in all malls, big and small over the last few weeks. Country Club is seen in lower end malls mostly.

Wonder how many victims they got in Doha already.

I am the victum of this Vacation international in Dubai.i caught with them just because one of my friend wife is working there and i trust on her i payed almost 4K dhs as first installment and got 7 days visit to sharm ul sheikh.but i didnot visit for remaning amount they took my chqs.when i came to know its fraud i asked them for chq.they refused i said ok go and put my chq. inthe bank then i am going to police station .they threten me even they come on 2000dhs inseted of 10,000dhs the remaning amount.he is said i talk to my senior he said ok you pay 2000dhs we will return your chq.

these f...ker took my 4K amount.

so sad for me :(

people pay a big price for their own stupidity and greed. It's about time for two grown-up (I assume, as they were obviously grown-up to conceive a child)people to learn that there is nothing free in this world.

Just yesterday when i was at New World Center those bloody burgers stopped me at the exit door and started their usual tactics.

I stopped there for some moment listened to their whole story (again) for atleast 10-15mins and then i said 'THANK YOU for your horrible package" and left with a fake smile....:(

I think it's up to the buyers to decide for themselves. No one in their right mind would swipe the credit card for such an amount AED 16500 just because the presentation 'pressured' them.

There are genuine vacation clubs too like Marriott's or Mahindra's vacation club. The fees are very high compare to what this scammer's offer.

Be aware and alert

If they are such a nuisance, which they are, why aren’t authorities rounding them up and taking necessary action.

Thank you very much for sharing this info. To be honest, back at my home country there are time sharing company offering the same but they are real. I have been utilising it for many years now. Guess it's not the same here in the Gulf region.

There were different posts warning QLers about "COUNTRY CLUB" who are now in Doha preying on the middle income people. Vacation Int'l is a counterpart of Country Club. Please do not get entertained by any of their agents as they will very easily hook you to their money making projects. It is another money chain company. We should make ourselves understand that there is nothing free in this world and there will be some traps behind all those free offers.

A similar scam was rampant in Sri Lanka many years ago. Nearly fell for it myself, but, AlHamdulillah, thanks to my father's wisdom and fast action was saved. These crooks are so convincing and operate in what seems such a legitimate and professional manner that many are conned.
