My husband and I are considering moving to Doha and I am worried about bringing our pet after reading that Dogs are not well liked in Qatar. If I do bring her will she need to stay quarantined for a period of time once she gets there, and is it difficult to find housing that will allow pets?
There is no quarantine - another thing to keep in mind is that the dog will need AC (i.e. stay in the house) for at least 4 - 6 months of the year other than when you go for walks.
Also, the asphalt/pavement gets very hot during the day so early morning and late evening walks with a quick pee break(s) during the hottest part of the day will mean your pet stays most comfortable.
You certainly will have to find a villa or flat that allows large dogs but that's not too difficult. You will also have to be careful to closely supervise him/her on-leash at all times. Otherwise no problem. And no quarantine.
