Nice areas to live in

Aloha Doha,

I have recently been offered a job in Doha and am looking forward to the move. I'll be paid QAR 33k pm (all inclusive) and have other benefits like family status, comprehensive insurance coverage, return tickets, 45 days leave etc etc. I have read several responses on QL on salaries and understand that what is offered to me is reasonable. From this forum, I would like to get an idea of the following:

1. How much does a decent car cost (Sonata, Accord, CRV, Ford Edge).
2. Which is a reasonable area to live in Doha? Wife's a homemaker so she would like an area with company. I'm looking for a 2 bedroom apartment in a nice building with all facilities. My office is near City Center.
3. How do I get an alcohol license?
4. I am living in the UAE right now. Any thoughts on whether I should ship my stuff or buy new things in Doha? How are the furniture shops in Doha?
5. Are there good jewellery shops in Doha?
