NOC - Glow Hair Salon - I Don't Believe it!!!

I am utterly shocked! The poor girl who lost her hand in that terrible car accident last year will not be given an NOC by her employer, Glow. She cannot cut hair any longer and when she asked, both her sponsor and Glow refused to give her an NOC. This is appalling - what has happened to common decency? I am surprised they can sleep at night. I think that all Glow customers will be disappointed to find out that they are behaving in such a manner.

There is a difference between NOC and release. What the poor girl is asking from the sponsor, a release or an NOC, is not clear. It makes no difference to a company to offer its employee an NOC besides losing the employee who happened to be useful (not true in this case). Not giving an NOC automatically means that the employee has to either stay with the company or take a karwa to the airport. Why would the sponsor like to do that if the employee is no more useful (as in this case) to him until he is really not human enough to be able to react to the tragedy the girl underwent in a courteous manner.

I think the girl is looking for a release which establishments don't want or can't give to their employees at will due to visa restrictions and allotted quotas for certain nationalities.

Another question that comes to mind is, how did the girl survive all these months without being able to work while staying in the payroll of the company. If true, that suggests that the company is not 'cruel' to the extent that it is refusing a humble NOC.

edited: didn't read carefully.

...if so she must have got plenty of compensation for permanent disablility.

that you are sure of your facts! If not you could get taken down BIG TIME! I would not want to be in your shoes if it turns out that this is not entirely true.

We're getting a third party account of what's going on - neither of the principals are speaking here - so the information being posted may or may not be accurate and we have no idea of the reasoning behind any decisions being made (or not made).

Name and shame if one has real, verifiable, first hand information Azamat AND if the poster is prepared to deal with any negative fallout as a result of their posting (and there are legal consequences possible here, it is illegal to make statements in Qatar that damage a person or a business' reputation, no matter if they are true or not)

- Again, if the lady involved has not given permission for this to be posted, the OP should delete it, no matter whether any of us agree or disagree.

The sponsor is probably in London for 3 months, he'll sign it when he gets back. Inshallah.

......I am surprised you didnt' figure it out......it gives hope that is what is does! Opens doors, rather than shuts them. Does that make sense????

If it was granted then no problem - if not, then I doubt they would change their mind, so what difference would this make? It will let people know the truth. How can allowing someone to make a living after such a tradegy can be controlled by people who only have not heart.

so it will be objectively viewed!

I'm just curious, what is the NOC for in her specific case?

I disagree with "marycatherine". Such blatant disregard for human rights should be made public, name and shame.

So if she can't cut hair again why won't they give her an NOC??? maybe she knows too much!!

Well she certainly won't get one now that it has become public. Employers rarely take kindly to this type of public pressure especially in this part of the world.

I hope you had this lady's permission to take this public before putting her in a more difficult position and if you didn't you should delete this ASAP

Why is she not given an NOC?

That is absolutely disgraceful ...so she has basically lost her hand and has to leave the country. Nice.
