I've worked side by side with about 10,000 men in my lifetime and as a father of 3 little girls one thing has always bothered me. Three quarters of the men in this world are women haters. Some overtly, some secretly, but a lot of men have a problem with women for some reason.

I think it's because their mothers simply didn't like or respect them when they were children and they resent it well into adulthood. So to women haters like Nando I say get over it, you probably weren't a very likeable child

On the other hand, let’s look at the technical pc meaning of (Copy-paste). Which I did with your profile info to show you the **** you are.

It means to take a part of a document/web page, etc, and put it onto another document. To do this you will need to do the following.

1-search for the info you want to cut-paste.

2- High light the portion of the document you want to move,

2-then right click on your mouse, and choose "cut" from the drop down menu.

4- Then go to the new document and right click on the spot you want to put the new information,

5- And then choose "paste" from the drop down menu.

I see your point, Mimi. And can't disagree. But it's hard to know what is the generalization - that most people want companionship and loyalty and family, or that most people want the freedom to do their own thing most of the time, with occasional input from others.

You are happily residing in the former, and me in the latter.

I guess too we should establish a definition of 'need'. And on that front I don't think there is any 'need'. There may be desire or want or preference. But it isn't need. In my opinion at least.

And Tinkerbell, I agree we need social contact. I spend all day socially contacting people. At the end of the day I just want to go home and tune out in peace at home! I like 'me' time. Lot's of it.

Well, I would assume that we do feel the "need" to settle down and have families, or else the human race would have died out a couple of million years ago. LOL.

I disagree fubar, I think people do need other people. We are at heart, social animals. One of the things I've realized since getting hitched and popping out a sprog(and other Mom's that I talk to echo this) is the need to return to the "village" way of living. Where you have an extended network of people to help you shelter, clothe, feed and educate a child.

I have nothing but respect for single parents, because raising a child is hard, even when you have both parents doing it! Children need more than just two parents to raise them, they need grandparents, older siblings, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, friends, teachers, etc! All of these people are vital in the rearing of a happy, healthy child.

The sad thing is that a lot of women from this part of the world think that it IS their duty to cook and clean and do the housework and raise the kids and play house.

I pity these people.

Personally I don't think that people 'need' anything else from other people, of either gender. It's just social conditioning that tells us we need to settle down with a man/woman to pop out babies. Both men and women are equally capable of being financially and socially independent if they chose. They can make use of surrogate wombs and sperm donors to procreate. They can both cook and clean and take care of themselves. Where is the necessity for relationships?

The matter of equality of men and women in ALL matters is also a long list of politically correct stances which is a contribution of the developed world. In reality,it's still far from truth in almost 80% of the world.

When it comes to the matters related to Education, Employment, Property,Financial Freedom,Right to Vote,Equal Opportunity to compete etc etc..I agree with it 100%. Other matters need to be scrutinized more carefully ;)
