School timing..........?

By lawa

Most of the schools are in Qatar have their off time at 1:45 or 2:00
Are you all agree on this time when your kids woke up in the morning at 5:30 to 6:30 and then they use to stay at school till 2:00 and when they came back it is almost 3:00 to 3:30 after taking lunch its 4:30 and if they take rest its almost 6:30 what's left in their day its absolutely wrong I think the school must off at 1:00 and the kids can reach to their home 1:30 to 2:30

and her timings are perfect: 7.00am-1.15pm Gives her plenty of time to do a lot of stuff, including driving me crazy! But thankfully, since she doesn't have any afternoon naps, she's generally in bed by 8.30pm!

you said ''....A normal human can't work more then 10 hours...''

You have no idea at all. What do you understand, a human's hands or legs become frozen after 10 hours work ?

By lawa• 16 Apr 2012 08:29
lawa

you accepted that kids have no time to even play how they will be healthy if we gave them this much burden

JDouble not all parents have drivers to pick their kids from school ? Instead they use buses which goes at a max speed of 80-100Kms/hr

My two go to bed by 2100 (they are 12 & 10), they get up at 0530 and leave with me at 0630. They arrive at school at 0645 for a 0700 start. They are out bu 1345 (after having had 2 breaks & lunch - a healthy one which WE provide them). The driver picks them up and they are home by 1410 - an hours homework a day and snack later its not even 1600! Plenty of time for friends and free time - OK so I arranged my accomodation around my kids school but doesn't everyone do this?

Sure its different from home but completely normal in the Middle East (where we all live, by the way!)

Lawa you are right. Not only they reach 3.30 but they have to get up very early to catch bus at 5.15. Yesterday children could not finish their home work. I think people should talk to concern authority, what you think?

I agree as I have been gone through the same situation. In fact I changed the school two times because of the same reason. I had the same feeling as the kids doesn’t have any time left to do any other activity. But now Alhamdullilah the routine has been set; as I have agreed with the bus driver to drop my kids on one location while I pick them up. Hence they reach home by max 1.30 pm. I believe the school management should thing about increasing the transportation and one bus should be nominated to one specific area; because they are charging much and even they charge for the transporation fee even though once the summmer vacations are on.....

My experience is schools can't provide you healthy food its very difficult and think your kids have only one meal at home that is dinner and most of us take our kids for dine out now what's left

By lawa• 16 Apr 2012 07:33
lawa

Try for betterment it might take time but it will

By GodFather.• 16 Apr 2012 07:32

Lawa its not about provide better or cheaper, the issue is that when all the kids eat the similar kind of food which is healthy it will promote health conscious.

Lol UkEng !

if i was in MOE, i would change the timings from 08:00am till 2pm with 3 breaks.....:)

By lawa• 16 Apr 2012 07:18
lawa

Well but they need a big demand for change they said that your people never ask us for change

By curiousgeorge• 16 Apr 2012 07:17

firstly, kids get time at school for lunch. Secondly, if you make sure they go to bed at a reasonable time, they won't need to sleep when they come home from school. So, problem solved.

By GodFather.• 16 Apr 2012 07:15
GodFather.

Rizks should get a job in the MoE to sort this out..:)

By lawa• 16 Apr 2012 07:15

As I know most indian schools are off by 1:30 but DPS timings are 2 pm...I really wish that school authorities do something to minimize the timings...What if the parents give the applications to the schools regarding the same thing ???

By lawa• 16 Apr 2012 06:57
