What does "now being installed" mean?

Either it's installed, or it's not installed.

I can't understand what the difference is between "now being" and "in 3/6 months".

It seems a bit sneaky to me. If it was "now installed" and "installed in 3 months" that would make sense. I think they have just found a clever way to overstate how much work has been achieved.

guess they will fix all the connectiions for now & later organise an event to formally launch it by push of a button..."hereby we declare fiber optic..acive" :-)

Fibre optic and 10 Mb/sec?

when are these people going to start doing things right?

When I subscribed to the wireless broadband, the gentleman assured me it will be mostly 21 Mb/sec. I'd be lucky to get 10 Kb/s 80 % of my usage time. Not only they don't know what they are doing but they also lie to you in your face :)

shameless

Fiber Optic technology is the recent and most advance as of the moment in terms of transmission link.It is very much faster, convenient and reliable than normal copper wire (with the use of telephone wire)

But..on the other hand, it is not that simple. It is somewhat complex (requires a nearby station wherein the fiber optic can be patch/connected to from each home/office)

lastly... very costly but rewarding

I hope Qtel can provide these latest technology in each every subscribers

I have mine in and working right now. I have 10mb and its not much better. It seems a little more steady but youtube video's still time out and do not stream without interruption. When I download I usually get files at about 400-550Kb per second. Its not the 1000 that it should be. Not as impressed as I was hoping. I had my box installed the first week in november and they just activated it and brought the router two weeks ago so that is the only time line I have for anyone. Good luck!!!

Good at media bragging only. Today a long article was published by Qtel about how they are going to use Cisco routers with the fibre optic connection. Who cares what brand you are going to use? I think it is meant to be a pill to make the customers take another nap.

Come on people cut them some slack. I dont suppose you think its all that "easy" for this to happen. There could be a lot of issues they face which we dont know about. What do we have to lose for now? Everything will come when the time is right.

It is disappointed that even Qtel cannot give a time line, they installed four months back in my home, while the initial idea was it will be activated after two weeks i.e. back in December.

I learned this morning it could still be six month's away and you cannot get even rough timeline from qtel

They connected the new cables and installed the new router in my house, 3 months ago, still blinking red till this moment. Qtel uses a different time scale, so a month of their promise is not an earthly month.
