(first of all this is a changing culture issue and is as per the forum rules so need not delete it by getting irritated,
there are various other posts that can be posted in more than two topics as well)

Issue-

People get irritated when u hear abt religion especially islam and rather get so excited to read a vulgur joke or gossip abt something or somebody not reltaed to you at all?

is it that the devil(might seem funny to some ppl,but everything unseen need not be false) for example, the exorcism might not be fake just because we cant c the devil in the body? ,) has overtaken the hearts of most of the world, the world 40 yrs ago was diffferent, people's priority wasnt just entertainment and enjoyment .But now with all the facilities and expectations and technology,we find that deep within,,no one is actually happy.Everybody just needs more and more of entertainment and destroy the spiritualism and humanity within ourselves

Allah mentioned in the Quran 1400 yrs ago
"And He it is Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. They float, each in an orbit."

"Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned."

Such amazing facts ppl seem to disregard and not take interest in and just go behind the apparent desired purpose of life rather than the reality of life which we should find out more by reading the words of God.

Why is it that entertainment/ego/pride/money etc has taken to such priority rather than the happines we find in worshipping God in the true form and as per God's last revelation, the Quran and the authentic way of the Prophet Muhammed pboh

we have to get informed rather than entertained

We are in Qatar and lucky to know its islamic culture easily through various places..For example we should go to fanar (islamic cultural center) and find out a bit abt the culture through scholars over there rather than media

yes please... its best to post such forums in the religious section in order to avoid any preacher taunts... however, the topic is quite interesting for those who believe... whatsoever religion it might be.

so to avoid deletion please post in religious forums (though i myself agree this particular forum can fit in well as a political or cultural forum, thats only my opinion)

People also have a tendency to idolize the past. People 40 years ago were no different than people today. Money, entertainment and enjoyment have always been peoples priorities.

This is pretty much the observation of the social psychologist Ernest Becker from the early 1970s.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terror_management_theory

Basically he was of the belief that humans, aware of their mortality, spend their days creating a culture that helps them to ignore it.

Whereas in the past, religions were used to help people cope with their mortality, now we seek distractions from movies, jobs, social climbing, ego building etc. Anything to take your mind of it.

An extension of this is that people will attack that which is foreign to them (ie other people's religious beliefs) as a way of reinforcing their own beliefs.

Thanks for sharing your thought...

my opinion would be excessive dependency on media sources and its enormous availability and easy accessibility. it wouldnt amaze me if a child born in the age of touch screens finds it hard to believe. though there is no doubt that the noble Qur'an is the book of signs and Allah (The God - emphasizing oneness) guides whom he wills.
