what bars in doha can you just walk in without your passport
I have just arrived in doha and i want to get a drink without the hassle of carrying around my passport. None of the bars i have been to so far let me in with my australian drivers license. is there any bar at all in doha that accept drivers license as a form of id or at least a passport photocopy.
The passport or national ID is how CID keeps track of who is going to the bars. The original is required (no photocopies permitted) to make sure the person is who the ID says he is (and hasn't been manipulated on a computer).
Sometimes some of the 5* hotels don't ask for it but I wouldn't count on it.
Carry your passport mate - you'll get a lot less rejections. Aus driver's licence is a useless piece of plastic here.
Belgians cafe in the Intercontinental. And Kempinski. But regardless of the bars, it is advisable to carry your passport with you at all times.
