QP new HQ

Hi all, I heard that QP is building new HQ in Lusail. Any updates, timelines? Are they building housing for staff as well or just offices, and what departments are moving there? I heard it would be high-end, but to what standards? Thx

perhaps this is what you have read previously about QP Complex in Lusail ---> http://www.gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=100356&version=1&template_id=36&parent_id=16 which was issued in august 2006...almost 6 yrs ago... and it should look like this when it is finished ---> http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=476172

a lot of things have changed since then...

Ah I wasn't dreaming, there was something going on in Lusail, like they wanted to create a whole city north of Doha especially for the WC (QP HQ, stadium, housing...).

GodFather.

Lusail project has been postponed, QP will take over the never building in the Barwa Financial District.

I looked at the map, and it looks like Simsimah is much further, unless you mean Sumaysimah which is just after Lusail? I guess life after sunset is inexistent there???

Consider renting in Simaisma or Al Khor, a 20 to 25 mile drive but traffic snags free driving. Cost about 40% less than Doha, my 4 bedroom house with huge garden costs 8.5k. Not so good with kids needing school transport etc. but better living experience overall!

Yes I noticed that. Is there a decent neighborhood or compound you recommend not very far from West Bay, but within my budget?

west bay area is very expensive... i don't think you will find a 4br villa within the 14K budget... but i suggest you try to search first in west bay area as i don't really know the exact market value of the villa available in that location... but in far locations surely you will find less expensive ones...

Thanks Tryke for your input. Ideally we'll be living in West Bay but we have a limited budget which is QR14k, that's why we are considering Al Waab. Can we find a 4br villa within that budget in West Bay?

well in that case, from al waab to west bay area it takes approx 30-45 mins drive during rush hours... do not worry, roads here are very big which has 4-5 lanes in each direction... traffic congestion usually happens if you are approaching the roundabout or where there is an ongoing road construction only...

Based on comments here, I'm leaning towards Al Waab for now. Supposing I'll be working in West Bay, is it a big deal in terms of commuting/traffic during rush hours? What's the estimate (30 min, 1h...)?

Right now QP buildings/offices are located in different places in Doha.. some you will find in the west bay area. QP also has its offices in villagio... others you will find near Marriott hotel in ras abu abod.. they are scattered all over Doha... but the HR dept is located near corniche which has its own building named Trans World Tower... Doha is a very small place so you no need to worry where to find a place to rent when you join QP in May... first you should know which office building you will be working then you can start looking for the nearest villa compound or flats that will suit your taste and requirements...

Yes great, but we need to wait until 2015 at the earliest. But how about present installations?

I believe all departments will transfer there... This is the first time in the history of QP that all its entities are coming under one roof... It is great that QP having such a wonderful place to locate its headquarter...

Really impressive. Do you know what departments will move there (corporate finance, audit, HR...)? And again how about the present installations, nice, location? I need to know to find out where to rent first

Thanks Tryke, I may be wrong but I read somewhere sth about Lusail, maybe I was dreaming. I'm joing QP in May, I guess I'll have to wait until 2014 to see these new premices. How are the current installations? in West Bay as well?
