Question about family residence visa

Dear All,

I moved to Doha about a month back and just obtained my RP. My wife is not with me here and I would like to apply for the Visa to get her to Doha. I was told by some people here that the bank statement is a must when applying for the residence visa for her. Is the 6 month bank statement a must for the residence visa for her?

If I do not obtain this and obtain the family visit visa for one month and later renew it for another 5 months, can this be a multiple one? I am asking this just incase she wants to exit during the 6 month visa period.
