GPS IN Kerala

I gone to Garmin shop and selected a Qr1400/- GPS. The Shop keeper said that if I want to use it in India, he will charge Qr.300/- for the software. But he says he is not sure it will work in Kerala or not. Any GPS user in QL please advice. If I upload the software, and use it in Kerala, can I use it free of charge or I have to pay money to BSNL or any other TEL co. in India. The Shop keeper says it is free of charge. Friends please reply.
You can use your GPS anywhere in the world provided there is map for it. Kerala is covered in City Navigator India Map. You can use it. You have an option to buy or ....(I cannot specify).
If you are bit techie, you can.
NO........You cant use the GPS in Kerala.You must Install the Software and you have to pay for installing software.
Can you please provide me model Number for this Gps which cost 1400 bucks?
The lesser version of Garmin flagship model 3790 LMT which does not support voice command in middle east (3790 T) was costing 1300 exactly a year ago .Is it same one but with inflated price.
Ask him if Kerala is coverage or full coverage?Coverage will give details of only major cities and towns while full coverage will give detailed map of whole Kerala.
Also you should be able to retain your GCC And Arab region map license intact to be used once you comeback to Qatar.Also inquire if the map he will load will be offering full coverage for all of India or only major towns?
And yes you will be able to use your GPS for the region you have licensed map free of charge.
Another option will be to buy from India a gps if it is economical and you have no intention to comeback to Qatar.Check GPS on the net.
If Kerala map is there it will work.
