i've been here for 2 years. my average expenses for food in a month is roughly 1,000 including condiments (because i cook my own food) and some take away orders from outside (sometimes i was not able to prepare). Add another extra for dine outs...

hello erwin_b2i, thanks for the response.

Are you currently in Qatar? what do you do there and how long have you been staying there?

Any suggestions on the package given to me?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello Hm74, brendanfernandes, and neha_jay, good day to all of you.

I'm also having doubts about the employment package offered to me in qatar, also as a Sales Executive.

Was quoted free accommodation/ car/ fuel/ and everything i'd be needing, except for food. I'll be having a QR5000 salary, with commissions, profit sharing, and incentives, and i'll be appraised with an additional QR1000 after 3 months.

I was told that food is cheap in Qatar, and will be spending around QR500/month only.

Please enlighten me on this, I know that once in Qatar, it ain't easy to just reset everything and go back...besides, I ain't a quitter...thanks y'all.

I will not say its great offer...but i would also not say its a bad offer....its 50 - 50.....also confirm what other benefits you can avail from the company..i thinks its private company seeing the salary structure...so indeed you can much more other feceilities if you negotiate properly....go for housing+car+car maintenance+telephone...you will get it.....to start with i would say its fine if you get the above saids!!!

Hi there,

Your basic is good, but i think you shoud negotiate for a 10,000 package or ask your company to give you a car with a petrol card, considering that they are giving you a car allowance of 1000 , you will have to rent a car and in that case you will lose out on your money cause the min needed to rent a car on a monty basis is 1800 to 2000 riyals. For any sales job here in doha a company gives you a basic+ car+ phone+ commision+housing allowance+ annual return tickets to your home country.i would say 5050 as basic+3000 housing allowance+car+phone+commision+annual tickets is a good deal, morover still better if they give you a company accomodation, you can save your entire basic salary.

Negotiate boss,

Regards.
