How much does your electricity, water, gas (LPG) cost you per month?
I've heard from a friend that he pays as much as QAR 1,500++ per month on their electricity? But he doesn't know any better, since he's been paying around that much for over 8-months now since he arrived in Qatar.
I've been in his home and theirs is a typical 2-Bedroom Flat... Pretty sure he's not running a factory/shop stall in there either...
Is it possible that some people are "illegally" tapping in their connection? The electric company checked it out and said they didn't find anything suspicious... Is there a third party company that he can call for a second opinion/check?

This had happened to us before. Please have your friend check the Tariff his consumption is being multiplied for (see FIRST LIMIT row on billing statement). Residential Tariffs should only be 4.4 and 0.08 for Water and Electricity respectively. If other than these, have him go to any Kahramaa office to have it changed. Once done, all those that he had previously paid in excess will be deducted to his succeeding bills until they even out.

we pay for 3 bedrooms plus 1 maid room villa no more than Qr 500 per month! your friend should have that checked with Kahramaa, could be he is having something high in electricity consume such as drying machine, electric stove, etc.
also applies to the water meter readings.
many times, they just put extra chrges under the label "other charges"
just visit kahrama and ask what the hell are these extra charges for.
bill for a 2 bedroom must be around 150-300qr/month on average.
he must check the meter's readings: take a photo of the readings every month, and 1- check if the numbers in the bills are correct, 2-do the math
if the reading on the meter are right than there must be a mass or something wrong: call an electrician.
