car under loan met an accident
need your expert advice... 3 yrs ago, i went for a vacation & left my apartment & car keys (car still under loan) under the custody of our hr manager. this is our usual practice so our maintenance crew can take care of the upkeep & cleaning. however one of our janitor took the car for a joyride & had an accident causing major damage to the car. the janitor was jailed & deported while my company sorted out the police case i was told since a public road property was also damaged in the process.
during that time my company could not provide details about the accident case. all they tell me is that i need to go back to qatar to sort things out. because of my frustration, i never went back. i admit this is a stupid thing to do not facing all these issues then. although i tried to contact the bank but they gave me a run around after spending $1,680 in overseas phone calls. i was also frustrated with my company for allowing the janitor to drive the car outside the safety of our guarded motor pool facility.
now, another company hired me & had issued my work visa. my question is, do you think its possible that i may have a criminal case? that when i land in qatar, i may be arrested for non-payment of loan? or the car accident?
thank you for all your advice.
thank you for all your replies. but one question, when i am alreadybissued a work visa, does this mean that i have NO pending case?
YOU ARE SAFE WITH REGARDS TO THE 2 YEARS BAN BECAUSE YOU DID NOT RESIGN PROPERLY IN YOUR COMPANY BUT WITH REGARDS TO YOUR BANK LOAN DEFINITELY THAT WOULD BE THE PROBLEM. IF THE BANK FILE A CASE ABOUT YOU, THEN YOU HAVE A BIG PROBLEM. YOU CANNOT APPLY A JOB TO ALL GCC COUNTRY UNLESS YOU HAVE TO CALL YOUR BANK AND ARRANGE A SETTLEMENT...
If I were you, I wouldn't come anywhere near ANY GCC country, especially since you indicate you're Filipino in your profile.
If you DO decide to come here and you manage get through the airport customs, you might meet other problems with the banks. If you can avoid using the banks for any reason, you may have slipped under the radar and you're now safe. Since it's been 3 yrs, it may have have been wiped off the books, so to speak.
It's a risky option for you.....good luck!
you havent paid all your installments so your name is for sure on the list.
