Probationary period.. NO OT payment????
Hi guys,
I will just ask that here in Qatar once you are under the Probitionary Period or the 3 months period. You are not entittle to have a bonus or Over Time payment because you are not a regular staff?? Is this how the law works on probitionary period?? Because the company of my husband is telling that he cannot have the 10% bonus when he get the quota or the maximum income for the day..and also they are allowing him to work for 2 to 3 hours OT almost every day of his shift but in the end of the month tell will tell him that he cannot have the OT and bonus because he is in the probitionary period?? In the first place, if they know already this why they ask him to do an OT job if they will not pay?? And lastly, does a ONE DAY OFF every week is not counted in the salary?? they are deducting the day off in the salary??
please advice us what we should do in this matter.
thank you guys in advance
So that means the salary is computed per day of work. Please read his contract again and if you find something that is not in conformity with the contract then your husband can ask the HR/Admin Department of his company regarding the non-conformity of the items that is stipulated in his contract.
For what I know Fridays are paid day off, they can only deduct from the monthly basic salary the day of absences that he made on the said month.
Some of the companies here dont really pay overtime work but if its stipulated in his contract that he will be paid in excess of the working hours say 8 to 12 hours per day then you have the right to ask for OT pay.
Even if youre husband is still on the probationary period he can asks the HR/Admin, he have the rights to know what are his rights regarding the conditions of his contract and pay/allowances.
Goodluck and hope everything will be fine.
their basic salary is QR1900 but now he took only 1583 because he only have 25 days of work. They deduct the 5days of day off...
someone requested me to change it... :(

what happened to your avatar ruby?
your husband cannot do anything as of now coz he's still under the probationary period, wait until he finished it and talk to the HR again, most of the workers have no overtime payment and expect an 8 to 12 working hours.
How are they deducting the day off in the salary?
is he getting his full salary excluding the OT.
Are there other deductions that you dont know of?
What does his contract state regarding the OT?
Friday is a paid day-off by law!
