I recently had a successful struggle with visa transfer and below is how I got it.

Did you get your family resident visa printed ?

If yes, step 2. If no, step 1.

Step 1

If not, go to Emigration office in Madina Khalifa with your visa application number. They will take Qr.200 for each family member and issue visa (printout).

Step 2

In the same counter ask the person to change the visit visa to the new resident visa. They will change it for Qr.500 per family member. Now you will have a new sticker pasted on each of your family members passport with a validity of 3 more months.

Step 3

Walk in to medical commission and finger print office with the passports. Once this process is completed your family will get resident permit and a resident visa sticket on their passport.

Hope abouve info helps. Pls include me in your prayers.

Dear macho....May I ask if your initial residence application for your family was rejected by Labor Dept? Only then do they invite for a personal interview. I want to know cause I am in a similar situation. If you let me know your visa designation, that would also give me vital clues. My wife is here on a visit and her residence was rejected even after my interview with Labor Dept. That was nearly 2 months ago. My company gave me a Technician Visa this year and put me in a lot of problems related to family residence. My wife had residence visa last year cause I had Engineer's visa then. My contract ended last year. This year I returned on a Technician Visa. Thanks a lot!

HI..i would like to ask when the interview took place in Labor? Because someone here informing us that the application for resident visa will be in Graffa Immigration so we dont need to go labor department for changing the visit visa family to Resident the effective date for this was after EID 2011.
