Poor Internet speed in Al-khor during Eid Holidays

I am experiencing a very poor Internet speed in Al-khor during Eid holidays, even sometimes google is not opening. My friends in Doha are telling that Internet speed is OK there. What about fastest Internet claims? Is anybody else in Al-khor facing same problem?

Not sure if you are windows and mac. Like most questions there is not enough information to have good advice. But I would start here:

There are three parts to the network. Your computer, your connection, your ISP, and of course the big cable coming into the country. Qatar is under rapid development and all that "deep excavation" could be fiber cable being laid across the country. BTW switching off the router for three hours is like going back in line three hours later... It is not a solution, you just came back when it was not busy.

1: Install some type of bandwidth/throughput monitor on your computer. If you can't find one let me know. It will tell you how many kilobits or kilobytes you are downloading. It does not matter what that means for now, you will have a number that you can compare things with.

2: Watch your monitor and see what the maximums are and the minimums. Time of day can have an effect. And your perception of slow internet might be as a result of the anti virus or system downloading something in the back ground. The web browser is slow, but something else on the computer is doing something.

3: You could be sharing internet with other users. Maybe someone else it taking all the space... You would have to detail how you connect to internet. If you are on WiFi, it could be a microwave or other device interfering. Maybe something has changed. You can also get WiFi software that details the connection strength. You never get 100%

4: Call the internet provider and ask them if they have a slowdown or high use. They really have all the data. And let them know that you are experiencing poor service. Again they are the best source of letting you know how the network is doing. They monitor all that data, and know of technical problems.

5: This is just good advice for the next two nights: Tonight update your computer software, if you have XP do a custom update and see if you have the latest drivers for your network cards. Just install everything, not just the high priority items. Then update your virus software, run a full scan of your computer for viruses and malware. If you don't have a current version, get Microsoft security essentials. Run a full scan of the system overnight. Although it is always running, when you run a full scan it touches every file to see if it missed something with it's new definitions. It is possible you acquired something before the definitions were updated. That is why full scan exists.

Most likely the problem is on the ISP side... call them.
