Greek Referendum On Bailout Deal Scrapped

3:13pm UK, Thursday November 03, 2011
Greece's Prime Minister has told Sky News the referendum on the the eurozone bailout plan will no longer go ahead - and it was never his intention for it to happen.

"The referendum was never an end in itself," George Papandreou told the cabinet according to statements released by his office.

"We had a dilemma - either true assent or a referendum. I said yesterday, if the assent were there, we would not need a referendum."

So, how is he going to get the assent without a referendum?

The people will be outraged more than ever. The conditions for revolutionary change are crystallising before our very eyes

Its a big joke that a bunch of european countries whose leaders are acting like a bunch of schoolboys cant come to some settlement of this greek crisis. They seem to be going from one crisis to another and then it will be the turn of Italy to go the way of Greece. This bunch of jokers cannot handle the finances of this small countries bunched togather in the EU and they have the balls to advise bigger countries like China, India, Indonesia, etc. on how to go about their finances, policies, etc

Because, most democratic countries embrace capitalism(i can't think of any that doesn't) and it has been proven for over a century that it works. If youcan explain why you mean that i might understand more what you mean .

Tataskis statement: "there is no place for democracy in capitalism " is BS - About the Greek referendum, that was not Tataskis words, he just referred to them, and I totally agree that it is a serious issue. On a side note, the Greek tragegy that might be one Nail in the coffin of EU.
