Beach - camping - swimwear and a family!

Hey there - we have been in Qatar for a few weeks now after being Saudi - we finally got to the beach yesterday - we went to the Sealine (the free one) only went for a few hours but still was great!

However, what we really want is a beach where there are maybe fewer people - where we can camp over the night, and i can wear a swimsuit - i wore my bikini with a vest top over it yesterday (only after seeing others in less!!!)  But would really like somewhere a little less busy and a bit more private!!!

I figure this place is pretty much surrounded by the ocean and so there has to be a place to suit us somewhere - we found places in Saudi we could do this (and we were in the arse end of KSA!)

We are looking to find a place like this asap as we want to go check it out over the next few weekends as we have a frind coming to stay during Eid and thats when we want to go camping - any advice very much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!!!

It can't be more crazy as it is! Perhaps a drop of alcohol would work wonders for them!

Also worth checking out the West Coast like Dukhan and Zikreet. Both have shallow waters nice for swimming.

Try Khor Al-Daid and it is very nice. There are only few people going there...the beach is nice and you could do camping overnight. However you need a 4 wheel drive vehicle as you will be passing into the dune and you be in group of more than 3 vehicles...just to be safe in the desert.

edifis - thanks for the info - sounds fab - we shall take a drive next weekend - and turtles sound lush - i wont scare them - i promise!!! :-) flor1212 - all good and well going inside the resort but then you have to pay - and for a family of 4 it would be abhout 300 qar ish i imagine?????  a lot of money for a beach tbh and even then i doubt we could camp etc could we?????  we like to get back to nature sometimes - enjoy the little things iyswim???  and it would be a lot of money for a teachers wage!!!! i just figure if we managed to find places in saudi (and it wasnt like we lived in jeddah or riyadh - we were in the back of beyond!!!) then surely there must be some 'hidden' type places here somewhere! xxx

ellietot.....the beach PrincessSarah mentioned in her earlier post is nice.

Try Fuwarit beach. Take the Shamal road....and after you drive for about 70 to 80 Kms you will find the right turn for Fuwarait! Once you turn right you will have to drive around 4 to 5 km to reach an old village. From that village you have to turn left and drive for about a mile or so to get to the beach.

Here are the beach coordinates.

 26° 2'3.29"N, 51°22'18.40"E

I hear that this is the turtle spawning season!@ Don't scare away the little creatures! LOL.

LOL @ edifis - that was the way I was thinking - although certainly not planning on going naked - would scare the fish away!!! ;-)

If you could do that in Saudi the 'land of the Muttawas' then you can surely go naked in Qatar!
