Thank you very much Fea_sad for the valuable information
Hi, I brought my baby last week. The following info will guide you:
This visa is provided to new born babies (outside the state) for residents of Qatar to proceed with their residence permit procedures.
The baby should be not more than 3 months old .
The parents shall have a valid residence in Qatar and mother shall be on the sponsorship of husband (father of baby) .
Produce original attested birth certificate .
The baby should have valid passport .
Visa is provided free of charge.
This information is available on the MOI website under the following link:

My personal suggestions:
1. Keep a copy of the Print out from the above link as some of the Immigration Officers are not completely aware of this visa. In my case the person at the counter was not aware (may be he was new). But upon clarification with other staff they could get this done.
2. This print out may also help you at your point of departure.
3. There is a ambiguity with the subject of 3 months. Some of them say it is 90 days. Please note 90 days does not necessarily mean 3 months. So have a proper count of the days & try to come in latest by the 88th /89th day.
4. Although it does not specify as to where the birth certificate needs to be attested from, try to ensure that the certificate is attested from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in your country & counter attested by the Qatari Embassy in your country. However, in my case they did not even check the birth certificate.
At the airport they will stamp the baby's passport & write on it a Visa No.
Later :
A. You have to visit the Medical Centre (at Abu Hamour) to register the baby with the medical centre. This is a new rule & i just finished it on Monday. Please note, the mother has to go with the baby, pay 100 QR through Credit/Debit Card, & then go to one more room where they will enter the baby's details & register the baby.
B. Upon this you have apply for the Visa at the Immigration office at Madina Khalifa. There is a application form. You have to fill it up & paste a picture of the baby. (My PRO did this process for me). Upon submitting this, the visa will now be issued & put on the passport. ALSO NOTE : Now they charge 400 QR for Baby Visa for 1 year - This is new - It is not free anymore. I just paid it today.
Hope all your doubts are clarified. If you want to know any more, do let me know.
