It is not about the opportunities in Qatar because it is full of them. It is about what you know and the resources you can handle vs your investment and your expectations.

Ask yourself this:

1- What do I know in life the most?

2- How much money can I invest?

3- How much money I expect as a return?

You already sound like an amateur for asking this and I assume the safest for you is to open a franchise restaurant or a stand alone restaurant because you probably will have the biggest chance to make it.

Food Business is the best business if only you have an experience with it.

Instead of asking QLers.....why don't you come here yourself????!!Researching any market from another country makes no sense. At least identify a business sector you have experience in first. If you've run car rental companies or restaurants, then look down this route....otherwise, you're saying that you will start a business, of which you have no experience in running....Qatar really needs another one of those!Plus, are you willing to invest? Approx 50,000 setup + governement fees, 200,000QR in your company account, and then whatever actual setup costs are involved in the business itself. If you're willing to do all this....I'd suggest you get on a plane and come and see Qatar for yourself.

@tennis lover- I do suggest you come over here and study the market yourself :) have a feel of Qatar, and you will know if it is a good place or what are the needs here. ;) Goodluck :)

U will have a lot of complications regarding visas since ur pakistani, why dont u try to do something in UAE, in the free trade zone? here u will only own 51% of ur business and u need a Qatari partner. Did u think about initial steps or have a business plan? This is the reason why Qatar is developing slowly.
