Poor traffic study on signals

By sag

Poor traffic study on signals allowing more time to less traffic and less time to more traffic causing unexpected delays in reaching destinations. I had to wait four turns of signal to finally get thru. This usually happense with left turning traffic. Anyone else concerned?

Guys, I am talking about timing. There are times in the day when left going traffic is more compared to straight going yet the timing remains low for left turns and more for straight goers whcih causes problems. Just timing adjutment can solve traffic problems to some extent especially in the mornings.....

are sure it's 100m? coz it's kind of far from the traffic signal...  why would a driver stops 100m before the traffic signal?! only a stupid driver would do that... how sure are you that they were all asian drivers?

why there are times that some sction doesn't change the signal eventhough there are cars waiiting, well because, the sensors are not sensing any vehicle/s on that section because driver are stopping away from the sensor. So next time you stop on signals, make sure your car is "stepping" on the sensors which is approximately a meter away from the white bold line near the end of the intersection.

@issarose8: Dear Friend, No one is a coward driver and you can not preferably point your fingers on asian drivers alone stopping their vehicles 100m from white stop line. As jakula89 mentioned, its all about discipline and the way you concentrate and drive. In Qatar, no one is a perfect driver. Anyone can drive in high speed but its difficult to put the defensive driving in action. Most of accidents are not caused because of other drivers. If you are a safe driver, you would probably enjoy the benefits of driving on Qatar roads.

WHY IS THAT?AT ALL SIGNAL THEY BUT A TRAFIC SENSOR 10m FROM THE STOP LINE BUT ALL ASIAN DRIVER'S STOP AT 100m OR MORE SOMETIMES FROM THE WHITE STOP LINE CAUSING A DELAY OF CHANGING THE SIGNAL AS NO TRAFIC ON IT ..

they could leave a few of them bcoz off peak time driving is quicker with round abouts.

Round about is the opposite of wrong about... some drivers always do wrong on this circle.I'm glad that they started to convert all RA to signal.

the first car is not "sensed" as present on the road that is why sometimes it take many turns before that section go.  The first car need to "step" on the black dark line near the white line to be "sensed" and give signal that there is a car present on that part of the road.

Sports R/A is the roundabout I hate having to negotiate the most. I literally go out of my way to avoid that one.

That next to no studies have been done should come as no suprise.... who puts signals at R/A 6 months before digging up the road for a highway?
