we went to city center to shop and dine. we spent four hours for buying stuffs and munch. when we are about to leave the mall we were charged QR28 riyals for the parking fee. ithink they need to revise their parking fee charges.

not going back to City Center. yup a weekly topic and yet this is a long thread. that means a lot of consumers are not satisfied with they way things are going on there. what if you wanted to watch a film and it will probably take more than an hour. hahaha! nice move city center. you must have a consumer counter from now on. have a nice day everybody!

if we have hypermarkets with free parking, why should we spent unnecessarily for parking in CC!

Serious shoppers will not probably visit CC more frequently than once a week or so while there are some local youths who go there almost everyday to play, skate or simply hang around. They would remain there for hours occupying the parking slots. Also, people find this CC a  convenient place to park their cars on a regular basis who don't get slots near their offices.

Its really not a big deal paying some 20 to 30 rials once in a while.

OMG one more victim of CC, they alibaba me as well of QR38 last month.

Idea for CC (Free-of-cost) : well I think the below is more like a Method Statement (MS) :

Once in the parking, customer shall take the parking reciept with them, go shopping, go movies or go to a resturant, let these places stamp on the purchase voucher/bills at the payment counter itself, instead of customer going all the way arounf to skating ring information counter or to find the cinema supervisor for stamping...I mean this is not immigration process or applying for resident permit....one have to be flexible.

Or don't do anything just park outside the CC if you really want to be there.

Money dosen't come easily so I've started to park my car outside....JUST ACROSS CC

There's a better choice, why not head to Villaggio instead, its a lot better than CC & there's a wide variety of choice, than compared to the small shops  w/choiceless stuff @ CC! also parking's free...

Fine and you? Eid Mubarak to you too (but I am not Muslim, I am a western mum) :)

I had a nap this afternoon so am not sleepy yet. On my Galaxy Tab in bed hehe! Love it ;) Just wondering how many more complain topics about CC will spring up. Lovely to park there easily :) as I said, if you can afford to shop, you can afford to pay parking! Isn't our time wasted in hunting for a parking spot and argue for one worth much more?

Parking is free @ CC if you have shopping bill then get the parking card stamped by information center at 1st floor showing the purchase bill and present the same while exiting.

Parking fee is applicable for window shoping.

This is a good move in introducing parking fee.   I wasted lot of time for getting a parking at CC. Now it is ok. Time is precious than money!!

CC is not the only place here in Doha. so why we need to go to CC and pay for parking where we have choices to go to other places.

unless you really have to go there then consider to pay some.

Same here, I got my ticket validated for shopping in Carrefour and expected to pay for only 2 hours instead of 4 but the validation entitles you to a QR5 discount on your parking fees. A total ripoff- I was charged QR13 instead of QR18-that day I had spent over QR2000 in total in City Center but only Carrefour offers validation. I thought I would get 2 hours free parking and thus only have to pay for 2 at a cost of QR5. Also you need to allow time to find a parking space and for exiting the parking- if you go over the time by even 1 minute you'll be charged for an extra hour.

i went there for grocery and dining....got the first 2 hours free parking because of above 100QR purchases from carrefour, had my ticket validated at the information desk....when i got to the parking exit and paying for the fee, they told me dat my time there was for 4 hours, they charged me 13 QR, they only deducted 5 QR....so basicaly, its no use and its stil unfair...so no more city center for now....

i think it is reasonable, before i never  get parking ,i think 2 to 3 hrs is enough for purchase .

yes, i heard that too but again such informations was not communicated very well.

I think CC gives lower rates to those people who brought business. I've heard they say that CC "validate receipts" to avail of the lower rates

tottally not fair, it is of course a money making parking.

assuming 1500 slots for parking and their charges is QR4/hr

QR6000 per hour profit

we've been there for 3 hours and paid QR18. way too much. of course we cannot blame them as it is their way to control the parking usage, but they need to revise the charges it in acceptable fee.

I think it should be revised... Something like Qr 0.5/hr and Qr1/hr after the 2nd hr could be more realistic,
