Bringing in Kaka doesn't neccesarily mean things will look up for Arsenal,i hear Real and also looking to get rid of him having brought in Altintop and sahin.

Arsenal have a fantastic stadium, have a good reputation in the Champions League having been there fourteen seasons in a row, world class training facilities, but they need strong reinforcements in the field of play.

i hope he will bring a good midfielder before the window closes on wednesday...sneijder is out of reach...ribberyy..???

The main problem is that Wenger has a mental block when it comes to spending big. He needs to take a chance and bring in a couple of big names and characters.

Yeah, I know that. Qualifying for next years Europa Cup will be a daunting task on current form!! Chelsea's big hope for the season is that Mata will spark and in turn give Torres what he needs to become a useful forward because at the moment he is playing like he both legs in plaster of paris.

I see most of Chelsea's goals this season coming from midfield and that will never be enough to challenge for the title - please see Rooney, Dzeko amd Suarez for details!!

By Mr M.• 29 Aug 2011 10:23

Chelsea were close to there usual against Norwich, and btw Arsenal are already in Europe, qualifying for next season's Champions League could be a daunting task if they continue in the way they were last night.

Yep will be a awesome EPL season this one, Chelsea seem to just do enough to get the biscuit, haven't looked impressive so far.  I thought City were looking the business last night before the United game, man what a treat football fans had last night, unless you were a Spurs or Gunners fan...LoL

By Chairboy• 29 Aug 2011 09:53
Chairboy

Yeah, qualifying for Europe is going to be a stretch for Arsenal this season - seems to me that the 2 Manchester clubs have thrown the gauntlet down and Chelsea and Liverpool have more than responded - actually, Liverpool more than Chelsea - I make it a 4 horse race this year and its going to be close - GREAT!!

yeah quite right Mikly Bar....needs to spend in the next few days....heard a rumour on one of the wires that they are after Kaka from Real...

I guess Wenger needs to spend some of the Cash he got for Nasri/Fabregas in the next few days before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Raven1968

well said Chairboy, a little perspective is needed here....as you quite rightly pointed out he only had 4 first team regs available, that is a horreduous injury list plus Nasir/Fab sold....is going to be a long season for Gunners fans, can't see them close to been in the top 4

By Chairboy• 29 Aug 2011 09:27
Chairboy

Hey look, Wenger didnt become a bad manager overnight - he only had 4 of his regular first team starters available to him last night - clubs and supporters are only to happy to get the hatchet out when they go through a bad run and funny as last night was for most fotball fans, I hope the Arsenal Board have more integrity and faith in the man who has brought them success and stability over the years. O'Neil or Hughes wouldnt do any better a job than Wenger is doing at the moment given his limited resorces.

By Mr M.• 29 Aug 2011 08:27

Arsene has been a huge part in the successess that Arsenal enjoyed in the last decade and a lot of the Gunners faithful have trust in him that he will deliver soon.Remember his  team of the 2003-04 season went unbeaten for the entire season which in itself is a feat hard to repeat. But all that seems like ancient history now.

Lets see what happens in the coming few weeks.

LMAO - I hope the OP found somewhere where he and his fellow gooners could watch and enjoy the game in each others company !!!! Relegation fodder. Next seasons "BIG GAME"?? Home to Milton Keynes Dons!!!!! Hahahaha

Wenger will never get sacked - He has done too much for Arsenal. I do think that he should walk and let Martin Oniel take over ..

Liverpool has one on the biggest following in the world. So what makes you think that LFC is a small club.

Gunners having a big turmoil at the moment.

Even though Liverpool Fan and hate Man U, cant see Arsenal beating Man U.

With all due respect to Arsenal fans, this Arsenal team isn't like the team of the 90's and the "Invincibles" team of the 2003-04 season. No were even close.

The last big Man Utd vs Arsenal match that i trully consider a classic match was the one  dubbed "The Battle of the Buffet" when Man Utd defeated Arsenal 2-0 and therefore ending Arsenal's record 49 match unbeaten run including the whole of the previous season (first time in Premier League history).

Commentator Jon Champion's words are still fresh in my memory."They are invincibles no more!"I don't think we will see any other match involving these two teams of that calibre.

An Arsenal Fan doesn't consider Liverpool a big club?  Even as a Utd Fan, I think that's possibly the most ludicrous thing I've ever read on here (and I've read Straight Arrow's posts).  By any measure of what makes a football club 'big', Liverpool are a far bigger club than Arsenal.Perhaps I should also point out to you that ko is 18.00, not 19.00.  But being such a huge Arsenal Fan yourself, I'm sure that was just a typo.Oh, and you can see it in the golf club if you want to watch it live.

So, Anybody know where the game will be shown live?

By Chairboy• 27 Aug 2011 08:52
Chairboy

Oh dear, you may consider this a "big" game, Im not so sure that this season ANYONE will see the Arsenal fixture as being "big" - maybe Spurs. The wheels appear to be falling off dramatically and given the turmoil at the club with injuries, out of form players, a manager with the word "TURMOIL" written across his forehead, it wouldnt suprise me if the club werent involved in some sort of releation drama this season - on saying that, they showed a lot of spirit against Udinese.

You don't consider Liverpool a big team, 5 European Cups (more than man Utd), 18 Premierships (1 less than man utd)....no not a big club at all, I suppose you consider Arsenal a big club?
