Hi there,
I have found the website for Qatar fecning but it doesn't seem to say where the clubs are, whether they are mixed or separate and what the standard of fencing is like.
Does anyone know?
Thanks
Flip

Flip, I suggest you speak to Ziad who is responsible for the training venues or speak to Mariam Al Maadeed incharge of ladies section in Al Sadd training hall. There is no training during Ramadan, it is most likely that they will start after the Eid holidays. Try to contact these two and am sure they will be more then willing to guide you through. If you have your kit and weapons it will be easier for you to train with them. All the best. Call on 44944473 to get their contact numbers.
I'm looking for people to train with.
I already fence and am quite a good standard so I just need a coach and a few partners to keep it up.
I've messaged someone a few questions and hope to hear back.
What is that you looking for?
I tried to contact them when I first arrived. it seems that they only cater for locals.
You may find difficulty in communicating with the guys at the federation as most are native arabic speakers. Try to get in touch with Yousif Dotty or Farhan who can speak in English.
Thank you!
The best is to phone the federation and find out the exact details you may need. The accredited young fencers practice in a training hall in Al Sadd. For more details call: 44708555/56. All the best
