Money giving to drivers of driving school

My friend took two full course paid up total of Qr. 5000 means 2500 each times plus some tips to the first time trainer around Qr.200 and a Hala card, but he fails at first time,

Second time he got an Indian instructors (Mallu) who do not have knowledge of any language other than his own and tow words right and left.

In his training time he sing a songs of Hindi cinema and that makes no sense of hearing it because the pronunciation of the words make the different and funny meaning,

He keeps on driving made lots of complaints against the trainer to the school superintendent. Moreover, what I feel that all of them have some sort of links in between them and it is useless to talk.

 He decided to carry on as it is and left his fortune to his almighty, started making purposely lots of mistake, and spoils his all-training sessions without getting the proper training and he passed the test in second attempt.

I want to tell all the students going to driving school worry and keeps on driving without giving money to the drivers and one day your creator will answer your hard work.

Giving a tip voluntarily is alright as a sign of gratitude to the instructor but if it's like extortion you need to take action and as our fellow QLers said on this thread, you need to report this wrong practice to the management.

I agree to the point that the drivers are poorly paid but it does not mean that they can squeeze the pockets of the trainees and try not to train them properly if they did not warm up their pockets. However, this issue is there for many years and I even paid something to the driver who was my trainer in 1985.

Karwa.... OMG they teach people how to drive :|God help us.

i have taken driving course and i did not pay the instructor i took full course at karwa driving school,they taught me well.

I brought the matter to the management when i encountered the same years ago when I was learning how to drive & they sent him home.  The school assigned a new instructor. when i got the license, i gave a small token of appreciation to the new guy, not because he asked for it, but because i saw how honest he was at work.

it will test your generosity, however, to the instructors, you shuold not demand such from your students. your service should not be affected even without TIP in advance, oh that's how i call it.

i definitely agree with maxmoo....these are one of the poor guys...well if you dont like to give anything to these drivers, tell them straight ...and if you think that they are not teaching you properly...then file a complain against them...In my case, i voluntarily gave money to my assigned trainer, coz i am so happy that i passed my driving exams...

Well, I would say give a visit to the place where these Drivers spend there evenings and nights. I just happened to visit one before starting my driving lessons and I was shocked. As soon as I met the driver assigned to me, I gave him Qr.200/- without speaking a word or without him asking for anything.

Next time when I took my wife for training, we did not pay anything but still the dirver was good and gave all the instructions required.

I say, look at it from charity point of view. We spend a lot more on our one night dinner than what they earn in whole month.

I know this should not happen and the management should give enough salary for these poor guyz, but we also know the ground reality so lets not argue on it.

differnt trainer mean different pocket , u still have to warm that pocket, to get some tips of driving , hope for betterment.

This is also the problem reason why so many people are 'failed' by taking the course and must pay full price to re-take the course again & again, sometimes with the best friend of the person who failed you!  Take it up with the management, be be aware that corruption is huge in the ME, and the managers may not be 100% either.  Usually nothing happens to such people in Doha, but it IS your rare right to request a different trainer.

This issue need to be adderessed by the management because if they are not giving this money leraners will just will just be driving and the driver will just sitt beside him or her without telling him or her whether is right or wrong
