Yeah it is necessary to seal the statement from the bank authorities... If ya will just take the statement print out from CB online banking to any commercial bank branch, they will seal it for free. But if the bank will print the statement for ya it will be QR 150.
As far as my understanding the stamp is required. Today a letter from a Bank to other bank is rejected as they forget to stamp it. After getting the stamp on it other bank accepted (this is my personal experience happend on today27/07/2011). So go back to Commercial Bank again, and request them for stamping.
