Drugs ruin lives!

i have unfortunately lost a few close friends through addiction, they where not famous nor wrote amazing songs but they shared the same seclusion, isolation that must of bestowed the late amy, people say it is not an example, a role model should make, but who made her a role model as i gurantee it was never her, i have seen at first hand the detioration that addiction can bring on to someones life and often found myself in helpless situations no matter how hard i tried, it annoys me, her father has bitched at the government about the lack of support available to people with addiction, but a famous quote is 'you can lead a horse to river but you can not make it drink the water'a moments thought should be taken by all to reflect at how precious a life we have and how easy it can cease exist,

i guess your right but ive seen a lot of pictures of her without make-ups and she was in the beach,she was so skinny and her skin was really dry that's why it made me think that she was in 40's..

scissorhand, on the whole she looked old because that is the style she cultivated (although the drugs did add on a few years but not 25!). Madonna carefully controls her image and probably has had surgery.

actually i really don't know her,i don't even know her music,what i actually know is she was a drug addict.that's all..but seriously i thought she was the same age of Madonna,i guess bec.of the side effect of drugs that's y she looks so older than her real age.

I went to see her in Dubai in february and she just did not know what was going on and she was as bad as the concert she put on in Serbia. Ironically the UK press the following week was saying she had got her act together.

Those promoting her concerts and the record producers pushed her to perform when she was not able to, they certainly did not have her best interests at heart. She should have gone to rehab for more than a week at a time.

In the sea of pop stars who think they are talented, surely we have lost one who truly had the potential but wasted it.

I hear George Best is delighted, he just heard there's a winehouse on its way to hell.

It's said the cause of her death was a massive seizure brought on by her quitting drugs and her continued alcohol abuse. I'm not surprised she's dead, but I feel for her family who I know did their best to try and get her help.  May she rest in peace.Now...who wants to take bets on when Lyndsy Lohan's going to die? :P

She led a troubled life. Her friendship with druggies Pete Doherty and husband Blake Fielder did not help. In addition, she admitted having eating disorders and being a manic depressive. The last couple of years were bad for drunkenness and abuse. A tragic end. May she rest in peace.

but her life was not a good exmaple. Look at the comments above, is theer someone who posted that she is a best example of people NOT turning to drugs.All you see is she's a good singer and songwriter.  I never said that anyone of us idolize her but you  could bet that many do, the young generation maybe.  And what's the message, drugs is ok.  She's a known drug-user, but could still perform her acts (maybe even under the influence).Someone even implies that it will be fun UP there when she meet the other "27's". So te message is what, LET'S do drugs and when we die, we go UP there?I'm sorry, I am not one of those who believes that when you die, you will go straight to a destination, UP or DOWN or IN-BETWEEN. Simply, you DIE and you remain dead and buried somewhere until JUDGEMENT day!

For someone who is proud of being 50 you sure dont act it. Sitting behind your computer screen putting the world to rights will be the one and only achievement that you can claim in that sad little life of yours!

Sad it is to see things happen to people, be it famous or even the common person. That's where a good upbringing by family and friends come in.

It is only suspected she has died from a drug overdose.With her history of substance abuse - it is likely to be the cause of her death.However, nobody knows that 100% (including us).Let's not get into which country has drugs or not - we would be foolish if we did not recognise that ALL countries are touched by drug problems.A much loved member of a family has died at a young age.Is it proper that we look for the supposed cause of her death or sling mud at her or other countries.This is sad enough without adding layers. 

Alumnar,well if life on any part of the planet could be described as living in a bubble,it's this place so it's apt i guess!...never ceases to amaze me how people living here,for years on end @ times,have no clue as to what REALLY happens in this place...

May she RIP - she was a talented song writer and singer.She was only 27 - so very, very sad. Let's not judge her - people who love her would not want that nor does she deserve it.

Flor, I do not idolize anybody. I am not a teenager! She had talent (great songs) and was gifted with a fantastic voice. She abused her body with illegal substances and is dead. RIP is too much to wish? She harmed herself. She did not harm you, me or anybody we know. What makes people turn to drugs? Availability of drugs, easy access, problems, millions of reasons. We don't know hers. She had the money to buy them, was weak to give in to the habit. She is dead now. Let her be an example of the kind of path not to follow but still: RIP Amy Winehouse.

don't know that drug addiction is bad and could kill you. MAny are devastated by her DRUG overdose?  So what's the message? You reap what you sow.  Unfortunately, even in death like this, the "idols" seems to be idolize!

turning to drugs and alcohol when you are famous (?) , I can't consider a talent. It sends wrong signals to many who in one way or another "idolize" suct artists or musicians or whatever you may call her!
