Pls. use INDICATOR signals on time, its a humble request.

Some feel its below their standard to use indicator or they r for newbies only, some use the indicator after moving in/out which is also not advisable.

Give way to main traffic and don't barge in from local/side roads

Special Tip:

AND always remember :)"the bigger the vehicle the more is His/Her right to the Road - this tip will avoid most of the problems on Doha roads

What I recommend is to:

please indicate left when you want to go right

it is always advisable to flash that car in front of you so it gets out of your way, remember you are far more important than the car in front

do drive on the inside of the roundabout and then at the last moment veer off to get off the roundabout

when you see a pedestrian in the middle of the road, do speed up and aim towards them - this is the only way they will learn about crossing the road.

never obey the speed limit - they are just rough guides not meant to be taken seriously

And as long as your horn and AC work, you are good to go, these are far more important than your brakes or ensuring your tyres are in good condition

Lincoln, yes, Attitude and Intelligence goes side by side. You are true.

I remember posting the following on a different occassion concerning how 4x4 owners feel while driving their so-called heavy machines especially on Qatar roads - 1) I feel that I own the road. 2) Traffic rules appear to be for lesser mortals. 3) Have the tendency to stick out my left hand, asserting that I always have the right of way. 4) The fast lanes have become my private domain. Anyone ahead of me must move aside. If not, the lights flash and the horn blares by itself. 5) Road dividers and other such barriers no longer matter. And so on...

Not only attitude but also intelligence. Both are missing here in Qatar! They drive like idiots!

Before starting the day, I always tend to say a word of prayer to be at peace with everyone especially while driving.

Always indicate your driving intention by making use of the signal indicator installed in your vehicle. Some people doesnt seem or value the proper usage of this signal indicator and tends to barge in from nowhere. Remember, while driving it is your responsibility to take care of yourself and you should never be responsible or a reason for others meeting with an accident. Basically, its all about your attitude.

a defensive driver is the one who knows whats around his car....not a slow diver.....therefore chances of being hit in the fast lane are the same that are on the right lane

Few of trends felt while driving is-

People tend to be very smart.

Bypassing traffic laws has become a common trend especially for those 4x4 owners.

No signals indicating left or right as this is considered to be below priority.

I think after what men and women want from each other, this must be the most discussed topic on QL even if not specifically under the banner of Driving in Qatar.
